All you can hear is a painful ringing noise in your ear as the immeasurable wave of bugs comes ever closer to you and your platoon

You have spent the last 3 months of your life in a state of constant pain and suffering as you went through Basic Training and now you were apart of Lieutenant John Jeap's own "Jeeper's Creepers", the most unfortunate unit to ever come from the Terran Federation. Why? Because your unit was going to be sent straight to enemy territory without any of the proper experience, weaponry, or basic common sense that is present in all other Federation units. You never questioned why your superiors would ever send 45 of their youngest recruits to their death so swiftly as the thought never crossed your mind till now. Coincidentally, this is also the first moment in which you realize that the odds of survival is greatly outweighed by the chance of death

You look to your sides. The enemy is still a great deal away, at most you have a 10 minutes until you become face-to-face with those Klendathu Bastards, so you decide you might as well grow accustom with the men you will so bravely die among.

It is in this moment that you finally realize you are alone. The cavernous trench in which you are currently hiding in is 12 feet deep. On one side of the battlefield is an extensive maze of tunnels that the "Jeeper's Creepers" traversed their way through. A few men were lost in the tunnels, picked away by some type of bug you aren't familiar with maybe. Even with all your training, God has bestowed upon you a flimsy sense of direction. Not to mention the only map you have has been burnt to an indecipherable black crisp. On the other side of the battlefield is an army of Bugs. You look down and check your rifle. 60 rounds left. You remember the can of nerve gas stashed away in your pocket too. Not enough to kill every bug, but enough to put up a fight

And now, you think to yourself:
>"What the hell am I going to do next?"
>>
>>1361027

Poke our head above the trench and see if we can find any of our unit to link up with
>>
Did you base this off the satire?
>>
>>1361027
This >>1361123
60 rounds isn't very much. Maybe we need to go on a stealth mission, sneak to the brain bug and gas it.
>>
>>1361123>>1361161

You scale up the trench just enough so you can stick your head out and take a look around your surroundings. Despite the dim lighting of the cavern, you catch a glimmer of what must be the metal armor of your comrades.. You reach your hand out so that you can grab onto whoever must be next to you while yelling out to him. You conclude he must be unconscious and you proceed to drag his body into the trench.

Now since you are closer to him, you can tell its Ed Jaguon, another member of the "Jeeper's Creepers". You can see through his shattered helmet that his skin is a red-ish purple tone with a few scrapes above his lip. Most likely he passed out from physical exhaustion. You perform all that you can remember from your training on battlefield first aid. Ed begins to cough and starts to bob his head. He's coming to, but you know he needs immediate medical attention by a fully equipped med staff

The whole process took around 5 minutes, meaning you now only have 10 minutes till the swarm of goddamn bugs comes to kill you

Going for a more toned down version like the book
>>
>>1361183
rip somethign off to banged him enguh that he can fire his gun
ever one fights no one quits
iv naver read the books
but seen the movies,
have you read up on star ship idols?
the guy bases it all of the book
>>
>>1361228
In a moment fueled by both fear and adrenaline, you grab the butt of your gun and smack it across Ed's face in the hope that the pain of it would make him snap back to reality. However noble your intent may have been, all that you have done is given Ed a concussion. Blood trickles from his now gaping mouth and a tooth hits the floor of the trench
>>
>>1361304
take his ammo nad nads
>>
>>1361428
You search all over the pockets in Ed's suit and scrounge up a couple rounds of ammo. You still don't have enough to fight off the incoming Bugs, but even a single bullet can make all the difference when loaded into the rifle of a soldier of the Terran Federation

You load your gun but pause for half a second. The feeling of guilt washes over you as you have stripped a friend of his only weapon. Granted, you know very little of Ed Jaguon as a person aside from a few less-than-pleasant disagreements back at the base over chain of commands, but anyone who fights in "Jeeper's Creepers" was apart of a much bigger family. Once you were a 'Creeper', you knew that every other 'Creeper' had your back.

You curse out loud. You never would have done this if it weren't for the Bugs. Goddamn Bugs. They killed Ed, not you, you think to yourself
>>
>>1361522
Stick a grenade under him so when the bugs grab him, they take out a few.

Raise coms, to get a baring on where friendlies are.

Are we in a trench or cave? I'm a tad confused as to our location and bearings.
>>
>>1361964
From the pocket of your suit you grab the single canister of nerve gas and place it in Ed's hand. Because of how the pin is attached to his hand, the canister will most likely go off once he's attacked by a bug.

You lower the bottom of your jaw and click to turn on your com links only to find radio silence. Most likely the circuits have been damaged. You try move your focus back to Ed and try to start up his com links only to find they too are dead.

The vicious roars of your enemy echoes throughout the cavernous terrain as the bugs come marching on. You have 5 minutes left till doomsday

You are in a trench that has been dug out in a cave
>>
>>1362798
Retreat into the cave. Try and find our lost comrades if nothing else make a chokepoint for the bugs so they can get us from behind. And look every dead man we do find and keep a tally of what we have.
>>
>>1362798
Let's take on the hoarde. Retreat is for the weak, there is no shame in bravely dying in combat
>>
>>1362843
The bugs are coming. Months of training kick in and your legs start to move faster than you think humanly possible. This could be because of how your current circumstance is affecting your abilities of perception or just the extra push in speed that comes from the giant suit of armor you're piloting. The details don't matter. Your legs are moving and that's enough for you.

You are so focused on getting away from the incoming swarm that you don't even know how long you've been running. Or how far you have progressed. But before you have any time to react, the feint noise of gas dispersion along with the much more piercing cry of Warrior class Bugs as every nerve cell in their body begins to turn against them. Your mind goes blank but your feet keep moving. Don't think, keep running. Don't look back, push on through the cave.

And you make it. There's 3 main tunnel entrances in front of you. The one on the right seems to go downwards. The one in the middle is the one your unit traveled through. The one on the left is much more porous than the other tunnels and seems to veer off into pure black. You can't tell if the tunnel is really that deep or if it just lacking in any natural source of light.

Your mind is divided on which path to take. You don't need to turn your head to know that the Bugs are coming though. Your little stunt with Ed may have stopped a few bugs, but they're still pouring in. It is in this moment of hopeless desolation that you are reminded of something Lieutenant Jeap said to you during a particularly intense day of field training;
>Well, son? After all you've done, now's the point you want to quit? The government spent too much money and I spent too much damn time for you to be a failure. Time to make a choice. Do you want to live a Citizen, or die a 'Creeper'?

Does the gas canister have remote detonation?
