You should have trusted your guts, you should have ordered you men to wait....

You have underestimated them . The Doslok federation is known to have fierce, strong and underhanded fighters who can withstand even the worst situations.

Perhaps your temporary numerical superiority had inflated your ego to push onward into what seemed to be a war-torn city in the middle of no where. The ongoing conflict between the Galeon empire and the Doslok federation is somewhat recent. Both superpowers must expand. The galaxy is simply not enough for both.

It was a clear ambush and you walked right into it.

Every nook and cranny spawned a Doslok gnawer. While the ruined rooftops sheltered more sharpshooters. they were waiting for your men, their mandibles crushed pristine imperial Galeon, their bolts went through metal m flesh and bone alike....

You found yourself with an open wound, cornered at the sight of dozens of gnawers, the blood of your men dripping from their mandibles. It was the end.....

.
.
.
.

"...."

"The captain is finally awake, how about that...."

Your eyes flickered responding to external stimuli. Your vision was blurry but you can easily recognize horrid Doslok architecture. Spiral and Ugly, your eyes haven't laid eyes on actual good architecture for over six months as of right now.

Wait, why your innards are still intact not torn apart by these insect like creatures? why are you still alive?

You regained a bit of focus, that voice....feminine, raspy with occasional clicks. A Doslok doctor by the looks of her outfit . your wound was almost healed too, how thoughtful of them....

"Captain J.Oscar , Correct?" asked the doctor as she was checking the monitor next to your bed.

>Correct, Call me Oscar
>Huh, last time i recall, my name was ____
>...
>Go fuck yourself you whore bug

The Doslok remained silent for a moment, brushing your insult with a distinct click from her mandible "Arrogant as ever i see, According to our report, you have been more than a nuisance in the last six months. It does not matter, this planet shall soon belong to the Doslok federation . The last of your empire's colonies on this desolate planet are getting sorted out as we speak...."

The Doslok pointed upwards to the ceiling, you could see one of their Great wormship in its full glory slowly swimming in the skies with smaller ships escorting it. You have heard some horrid tales about these kinds of wormships. they can redeploy themselves as walking fortresses in almost any terrain making it a worthy foe in both land and air, their downside is the insane consuming for power and their rather weak joints in fortress mode.

The question remains, why would they bring a ship of that importance to a relatively low priority planet?

"Damen is the name, can't you get anything straight here?" you spat in anger. It was rather expected to see restrains coiled around your legs and arms. That would explain why the doctor is rather calm.

" hmm, must have been an error in the ID scanner. " The doctor pulled out a syringe with a bluish liquid inside. It had a small worm wiggling in anticipation.

"Where is my men? what the hell is this?"

"Please stand still, The hibernation worm requires extreme caution. Three of your men spazzed to death due to their incompetence. I am preparing your body for the hive drive... "

Pace not picking up uh?
It's probably because starting out by choosing how to react to capture isn't the most appealing to most quest players.
Maybe things will pick up when we aren't strapped to a chair and can actually choose between choices that make a difference.

But we won't ever get there unless the quest is made to advance so, if no one else wishes to, I'll do the honors:

You had little authority at the moment. Doctors, whatever their affiliation may be want the best for their patients.

The doctor injected the syringe very slowly, her mandible clicked nervously a couple of times as the worm slid peacefully in your veins.

" Relax...It will be over soon" your body was growing stiff and cold....so....cold.....

.
.
.
.
.

Your eyes reacted to an a single light shining in this pulsating darkness. your body felt weightless and ...slimy. It was possible to squirm a bit inside this fleshy coil of yours but it wasnt advisable.

A large audible thud shook your body, it was briefly followed by a smaller thud. It felt like a gigantic heart but in this sheer darkness, nothing can be certain.

The source of the light floated swiftly in the air .It highlighted other hibernated prisoners coiled by a pulsating strands of green flesh which kept oozing more of this green slime.

"Hmm hmm hm hm dii laaa~
Hmm hmm hm di laaa~
Sol Toli val doko di laa~
Hmm hmm hm di laa~"

If your ears werent playing tricks on you, that has the sound of one energetic individual below who doesnt mind this state of captivity. Quite the opposite really; according to all this joyful humming

>[Attempt to turn around]
>[Stay silent]
>Hello? Anyone here?

>[Attempt to turn around]
>>
The coils around you were elastic enough to allow you to turn around, it was a bit uncomfortable but you could manage.

Darkness awaited you when turned around. The occasional thudding stopped momentarily you felt a strange shift in movement, your body was slightly swayed to the right.

You had to wait for the glowing beacon of light to illuminate the humming person below you.

An Atrian a childish like humanoid with a crucial fungal parasite overtaking most of their body. An 'elder' usually have a mental link with every hundred Atrian or so. Most of the Atrian resides as independent pockets in the Doslok federation. You haven't fought them before but from what you have heard, they can bust deadly spores at will....a true foe to reckon for certain. then again, they have showed something those Doslok bugs rarely show....

Mercy.

The humming stopped, emerald eyes shined upon you

" D-dolli Kos, Vandi?" curiosity with a lick of excitement escaped his mouth.

your memory failed to serve you when you needed it the most. You were starting to feel a bit disoriented with all these abrupt movements.

"Can you understand me? w-where are we?" your voice echoed in the emptiness around you.

"Tokonoh....G-Galeoone?"

"Yes, yes i am from Galeon empire. Can you understand me?" this demi fungal race wasn't exactly smart, that is why they would require the guidance of an elder in many aspects of life. They weren't compelete savage either, despite the propaganda of the empire.

A sudden shift expanded the strings holding your coils. All of the other prisoners started to sway up and down in this empty vessel. More light beacons started to shine like a blazing star, with enough luminescence, you could see dozens so floating worm-like creatures checking on various prisoners who were also starting to wake up.

These worm creatures had to be one of the biotech marvels of the Doslok federation. They were pioneers in the biotech industry. It uses this advancement against the empire at full force.

"YU-man, I Delliak, H-Hi!" the Atrian waved his right arm with some great effort. While half of his juvenile face was overtaken by fungus, he managed to crack a childish smile.

"Star traveeel....Hosta? O-over?" asked the optimistic Atrian
>What star travel?

Let's keep it simple but civilized.

>"Sorry pal, I've just woken up and I have no idea where I am or what is going on."
>>
>>1299661
"S-sir, Is that you ,sir?" quickly you turned your head to the right only to find one of your men. You knew this voice very well.

Ironically, It was Oscar, the man whom the doctor mistook you for. He was close to one of the pulsating walls.

The floating biodrones were a bit annoyed by the new ruckus from the prisoners and yet they chose to remain relativity docile.

"Oscar, where the hell are we?" blood rushed into your veins; to speak to one of your men once more......

"An Interhive travel sir, the Doslok's answer to FTL, Sir. The worm in our veins prevents us from being identified as external bodies to the hive worm." said Oscar.

You cursed this current state of yours; so...helpless and vulnerable
Oscar remained silent for a second " i haven't sir...I haven't."

"Damn" you muttered. You haven't noticed it before but there was a large fleshy sphincter way in the back, it opened with an audible hiss. More of these biodrones flowed in, tendrils of metal and flesh sprawled from their sides. They were gently cutting the strings attached to the slimy coils. They were carrying the prisoners away like a caring mother.

Not all the prisoners accepted his gentle handling, you could recognize one of your men who violently headbutted the drone in pure, primal instinct.

Not a minute later, his entrails dropped to floor after other drones shredded him to bits.

You remained silent as the biodrone carried you and others into a series of fleshy tunnels. Anger and Hatred brimming from inside.

"Tokanoa! Go-od l-lack human!" the rather joyful child-like waved his tiny arm once more as another biodrone took him to a different tunnel.

The labyrinth of flesh soon ended with a glorious view of The Solis
Caeruleus
an artificial sun forged by a forgotten race. So radiant and otherworldly Now you know where exactly you are....

The Kanius Sector

An abandoned sector at the edge of the galaxy, Your empire was the first to discover it two centuries ago but the Doslok soon conquered the sector in a previous conflict. Its planets are but a wasteland of corpses of iron. A twisted and an unknown race perished in this land leaving only a single city in these seas of broken iron...

The Runged City

A ruin like other remnants in this sector but it had some functioning automation serving their long dead masters. When the Doslok conquered the sector, they reused this ancient city as a glorified pit...an arena for slaves, prisoners and seekers of fortune to spill their blood and gut for the sheer amusements of others....a galactic attraction for certain.

The Biodrones brought all the prisoners near a large platform at the 'mouth' of the worm, when you turned your back, you could witness the giant worm than transferred you. Yet another abomination of flesh and metal...

This platform is a teleporting one for certain the desolate planet is down below....the Runged city awaits.....

your eyes flickered hopping from one prisoner to another. Aside from Oscar, you did spot another of your soldiers but couldn't figure out who exactly was he; the teleported activated once you spotted this solider.

.
.
.
.

You found yourself in a really small and confined place. A metal box with three small slits for air and a tiny screen. You were still covered with this god awful slime, those who stuck on the metal sheet were starting to bubble; It was rather too hot out here, the metal walls around you were getting hotter.

A mechanical roar bellowed below you, The box you were inside was on a bipedal machine of sorts, Its movements weren't even that smooth, you swayed left and right inside your confinement with the occasional bump to your head. Luckily there were small handles for you. How kind.

This 'mean' of transport was transversing some awful terrain for certain it couldn't walk straight for a good minute. The silts were too narrow for you to see anything outside of your second prison.

The small Screen Sprung to life, it showed a human, a woman in traditional Doslok outfit "Good Morning, dear captive, I am Dia , I shall be your sole friend in your fortunate current state. The Doslok are kind and gentle, you should feel proud knowing that you shall provide entertainment to thousands if not millions of viewers in the whole federation. Dear Captive, You are given a rare chance t-tsssszttttttttbrrrrrrrrrt-"

The transmission suddenly stopped, the screen went black for a moment before a distorted figure appeared instead of the lady "Welcome to the Runged, a man from the empire won't stand a chance of just here. Your future fights will be simply....not fair. That is unless you remember my favor to you....Do you accept my gift, Captain?"

Fucking what? Are we supposed to know this guy? Whatever, he is probably going to hold it over us uh the future but as long as there is a better chance of being alive.
>>
>>1300068
>>1300082
"An Excellent choice, Captain. You can call me the Code. When the time comes, I expect a rightful repay for my gift."

The screen faded to black a moment later. Nothing is free, you were of aware of that. For now, you had no choice but to accept whatever his gift may be.

The bipedal transport started to walk into a proper road. The blazing heat was taking its toll on you. The silence of the wasteland around you soon shifted to insectoid clicks inspecting the new prisoners.

A Torrent of warm water flooded your small confinement washing away all the slimy around you. It washed away via a drain below your feet.

One of the Doslok struck your metal box twice with its powerful arm "Enjoying your stay, G'on?" the click afterwards were to resemble a crude laugh. The word G'on means sweet maggots in their tongue, they usually call the sons and daughters of the empire G'on or G'an according to the gender as an insult. Your cracked a small smile; the last time one of them bugs called you so, you ordered your men to spill protonic oil on her face melting the entirety of her head off. She killed four of your men and sabotaged your sole water supply. There is no room for pity in total war.....

Your transport continued to walk into the unknown, it was moving very slowly for some reason. You could hear an amalgamation of shouts, tappings on the transports, cheers and curses. You were among a crowd of sorts.

The screen flickered once more as the transport was heading into a rather calmer area , It was this Dia again "Dear Captive, In order to prove your worth, you must survive the womb of the runged . Three random trails are waiting for you, please, choose three numbers of the following...."

>[R10]
>>
>>1300127

The metal box has indeed reattached itself from the transport. It sprawled a plethora of small jointed legs and marched onwards. You were in a small tunnel of sort, the box was barely able to move inside the tunnel. The air...it was too thick, the stench of death reek from wherever you were going to.

Just what the hell is this place?

Finally, After what seemed to be an eternity, the box has finally opened allowing you to escape your closed confinement.

There was no crowd to cheer for or against you. a dark, abandoned small arena awaited you. Everyone or thing around you was dead. Rotten corpses of various races watching you in dreadful silence. Dust, filth and trash has accumulated among the corpses.

Small sources of light would occasionally flicker showing the horrors around you. Such an unbearable stench, you emptied what little you had in your stomach.

A broken screen flickered "FIVE .TRIAL OF. THE. BROKEN."

You heard a beeping sound all around you, it came from all the corpses laying around.

"GGGGGG''OOOONNNNNN......AAAAAAAAA" even the dead are not free from the Doslok biotech advancements. Three corpses glowed green from inside. All of them were humans, they wore old imperial armour, they must have died here decades ago. Biogel swords protruded from their arms. It must be powered by whatever is reanimating these corpses.

They were extremely sluggish. This pit your are into is closed, the only way out is by neutralizing your foes with any means necessary.
