Alright I guess we're going with this >>127437

You are a handsome young man of delicate parts and features. Not particularly strong or intelligent, your good looks and charm have won the favor of many. You have come to the Nameless Dungeon to seek a wife, for the average women of the world do not interest you. We shall see if you find love within these halls...or death.

Now on to your TRAITS:

1. You were born into:
>A family of wealthy MERCHANTS
>A family of peasant FARMERS
>A wandering CIRCUS
>A family of WOLVES
>SERVITUDE for royalty
>A family of traveling BARDS
>A family of contract KILLERS
>Other (write-in)

2. As a young lad you delighted in (choose 2)
>EXPLORING the wilderness
>FIGHTING other young lads
>READING arcane tomes
>HUNTING wild game
>ROMANCING young lasses
>EXPERIMENTING with magical reagents
>STEALING from pockets and chests
>Other (write-in)

3. As a man you:
>Joined the military as a FOOTSOLDIER
>Wandered the country as a BARD
>Took up the cloth, the holy book and the sword as a CRUSADER
>Became apprentice to a powerful WIZARD
>Learned the subtle art of BLACKSMITHING
>Achieved spiritual purity as a MONK
>Assassinated hundreds as a KILLER
>Became a royal COOK
>Preached the word of your god as a MISSIONARY
>Carried messages for your lord as a HEARLD
>Worked the fields as a FARMER
>Other (write-in)

Roll 1d50, highest will be chosen.

Rules:

The rules of this system are simple. You roll 1d50. Lowest number is chosen (starting now). If there is any kind of resistance to your action, your roll is compared against the appropriate stat. Rolling below half your stat is a crit success, rolling above your stat is crit fail, rolling anywhere else is a partial success.

TRAITS are things you can "cite" when making an action, you must justify citing a particular trait by explaining how it applies. Traits can be anything, skills, abilities, people you know, equipment etc. Traits give a +1 to +10 modifier to your roll based on the relevance of the trait to the action (which is determined by the strength of your argument/justification).

Traits can also be cited toward negative effects, in which case you get Luck Points (LP). You can expend LP to roll against your Luck stat instead of another stat.

You family was part of a traveling circus. You participated in many of the acts, including acrobatics, clowning and lion-taming. But your main talent was sleight of hand magic tricks. You were called Los Dedos.

Whatever pocket money you earned in those days you spent on collecting books and arcane tomes. The circus owner taught you to read and you spent your free time reading as many books as possible. You learned to read in several languages. And you learned by heart many myths, stories, legends, poems and songs from a diverse array of cultures.

You became so interested in the stories that you traveled the land as a Bard, sharing stories to those who would listen and listening to those who had stories to share. Your charm and good looks captured the hearts of many. And maidens came from far and wide to hear you play and sing. You broke many hearts, for you loved no one among your admirers.

Now you have come to the Nameless Dungeon, where all who seek, find. We shall see if the legends of this place are true...

What will you do? (See OP pic)

This creature is known as Jakinburr (also Jakenburr, Jakunberr, Huptir, Flotsee). They feed on the blood of rats and other rodents. They are quite fond of dancing and music. Their horns are theorized to have magical properties, but no one knows what they are. Be wary of introducing yourself, the Jakinburr finds introductions to be extremely offensive and may become hostile.

The Jakinburr are not terribly intelligent and there are at least a dozen cases where clever adventurers were able to outsmart them.

If a Jakinburr tells you his name, NEVER SPEAK IT.

(Bard trait gives +7 to Int for this roll)
You recognize the language from an ancient text you studied when you were younger: The Bride of the Horse-Breeder. The language is called Ke-ikek.

The message reads:

"Beware! This way lies dragons!"

Well that's helpful.
