Turnout is slower than it was initially but let's hope to keep the ball rolling!.
Nothing has happened much yet so nobody is out of the loop just yet.

>[x] Ever-rot knife

... wooden knife.

You've observed (and painfully experienced) how an Ever-rot tree's defends itself from other creatures that dare try to rend its poisonous barks off.
And with that knowledge, you have carefully crafted your very own ingenious weapon

After some silent rowing a short wooden dock reveals itself over the horizon, ending the seemingly endless waters of the swamp.

The shuddering screams get louder and are still consistent in their drilling of your ears.

The boat halts at the edge of the moss-ridden jetty, "That's as far as I can go."

You climb up its slippery foundations and view yourself of the obscured path that lies ahead.

"Through Shrieker Bog is New Yohan, that is if you can survive the way there. Hihihihii.", she cackles bashfully.

The mysterious ferrywoman rows back into the abyss, leaving you to your own devices.
And to add to the already creepy ambiance, the shrieking has mysteriously stopped as a thick fog covers the path ahead.

>[x] Take a look around

You look around meticulously, your bare feet sinking into wet and muddy soil of the wetland.
There's nothing to point out in particular except the familiar sound of buzzing insects flittering around and croaking frogs humming into your ears.

It's then you notice something move...with a quick brandish of your [Poison Knife] you stand guard, always vigilant for predators nearby.

It sounds like it's behind some rocks jutting out of the sodden ground.

*SQUELCH*

That... rock just moved...

*SQUELCH* *SQUELCH*

The supposed rock slowly lumbers its own way until it detects your curious eyes bearing witness to its solitary jaunt.

It slowly turns around and freezes in place, watchful of your motions, with a peculiar glinting gemstone shining on its head the size of a pomegranate.

wew was wondering what happened with this
usually you don't want to focus on numbers and things like this, the sort of game where you press attack each time the menu comes up isn't the sort of game that translates well to quest story-telling

>[x] Attack :Poison Knife

Using your deft reflexes, you quickly try to assault the bizarre creature with a lunging thrust of your knife.
But somehow at the first sign of a twitch in your muscle, it hurriedly scurries off, kicking the dirt behind its haunches!

The glimmering from the large gemstone on its head fades away as it disappears into the fog ahead.

(Gramite has FLED!)

Despite its clunky size, you're surprised on how agile it was to run off with its fast feet carrying its own heavy body like that.
Another thing you have to keep in mind, you think to yourself.

Not even a foot onto this new land and already you're seeing some odd critters.

Hmmm...there really is only one thing for you to do now.

Wooo!

>[x] Track the Gramite deeper into the fog.

That scampering fellow shouldn't have gone far so you decide to track its three-toed footprints on the mushy soil.

With each step further, the ground is starting to feel softer, molding your feet deeper into the earth.
You've learned about this before, rather experienced it, and you fear that you might sink if you're not careful of where you go.

In the upside, it makes it rather easy to track something down here.

"Where are you, little guy.", you murmur as you follow its trail.

You start thinking to yourself that scaring it off like that was a bit mean on your part but who can blame you? There are lots of things out here in Remnant* that will take no second chances to maul you to bits.

Especially Grimm**......you do not want to bump into one in this kind of fog.

Suddenly, as if bad fate would have it, you hear a faint growling from a few feet away from you, stopping you dead in your tracks.

[] Walk away from the noise
[] Walk towards the noise

*Remnant - the world that RWBY takes place in

hm...I'm not sure I get it!
>>1249922
>Hide as best you can
>>
>[x] Approach noise

You take a deep breath and proceed to investigate the noise.
Closer and closer with each inch, you can hear it getting louder.

With enough of a slow pace you make out a giant figure, about the size of a grizzled bear, sunk into the soft earth.
Upon closer but safer inspection, you can fuzzily make out that it may be a dog of somekind.

It snaps it's bared teeth and growls violently while fending itself off from some creeping creatures that are clawing at it and trying to push it further down, producing the same shrill noise you've been hearing since you've set foot here..

The large animal's paws are stuck within the tar pit so it is using its teeth to ward off its attacker's long prying hands, its albino pristine hide sticking into the black glue it is trapped in.

Behind one of its haunches, you spot an arrow sticking out with red running down, intermixing with the color of the black soil.

>[x] Observe. Try to identify the dogbeast and the creepy-crawlies.

You carefully inch closer just so the mists of the bog don't obscure any detail to review the situation.

You at least count three of the weird-screeching Grimm you've never come across before (much to your good fortune that you never really came close to one) harassing the enormous wolf.
The beast's relentless thrashing do nothing to thwart their efforts but you can see that one of them have been cut by one of its claws, impeding on its own revelry.

And for some reason you get a good grasp on the whole thing...numerically you'd put it like this.

Utilizing your stealth as an advantage, you sneakily glide closer, the soles of your feet caressing the soft earth.

The desperation of the large canine is getting more apparent, each snap of its jaws and swipe of claw not helping its furious cause to get out.

Meanwhile, the three Grimm creatures in their wailing glee parade and screech at their prized capture.
It looks like they have every intention to just dance around the sinking beast with the occasional shoving to help their goal further.

You creep closer, awaiting for the moment to strike....

With a quick lunge your knife digs its way into the scaly hide of the wounded one, as it bucks in surprise and agonizing cry.
(*CRIT* 9)

You try to recoil and flee away but you've underestimated the sheer force you used to plunge the knife in, now wedged deeply in Grimm bone and flesh.

The others are quick to notice your covert assault and quickly turn their attention to you right as you get a good grip and heave the wooden blade out. (4)

One of them lets out a deafening screech towards you, as your victim wiggles and flails about in retreat behind its two cohorts.

The two look more emboldened than before, eyeing you with their slime-ridden eyes.

Hi, anon.
Glad you can make it.

>[x] Defend

You steel yourself, preparing for an incoming hit.
(Defend)

1st Banshee courageously lunges at you with its claws! (Defended!) (4)

2nd Banshee is reluctant to attack with its companions and instead just hangs back pretending itself busy.

3rd Banshee courageously lunges at you with its claws! (Defended!) (4)

Although you may have telegraphed the blows, it wasn't enough to fully mitigate their assault.
Luckily, your aura absorbed most of the damage but you are now fully drained of its protection.

You warily think on what to do next.

I thought you would of guessed it by now.

In a dire attempt to even the odds you try and go for one of the bolder ones, lunging at it with your knife.

Onto the mud, the both of you wrangle around as you manage to get one under its belly. (4)

Unfortunately your assault has been met with the same ferocity as well, feeling its claws dig into your skin. (5)
The other one joins into the fray to help its comrade, repeatedly gouging at whatever skin it can find. (5)

Warm blood soon envelop your weakening limbs that start to lose their strength the longer you hold on.
Their burning sensations overwhelm your senses but at the same time make you lethargic.

(You are now BLEEDING)

(You are now INJURED)

Pain...so much pain...you wish for it to stop...

Your muscles give out as you slowly lull into sleep despite the deafening screams and stinging nails of the Banshees.
