(A Multi-civ game)

In the year, [Turn 0], the Empire boasts its strengths in having a cooperative multi-racial nation. Through the unique skills presented by each different race, the Empire led in many aspects of advancements. Of course, this couldn't have been done without the leadership skills of Emperor Bello, the Reborn-er. Through his leadership, the Empire was happy, successful, and great.

Until, the Emperor died that is.

[Now you play as a noble, who has to lead in this time of need when the Empire is leaderless, a powder-keg of racial tension, and all the while other nobles get in your way in whatever your goal is.]

Hereditary, Noble Builder.

Because I do not keep the initial investment of (100) with you if we trade as players, even giving me (200) supplies means ultimately a net profit of (100) supplies only, I'd have to give Epidemica initial investment of (100) back (possibly out of my own pocket) and split a net profit of a measly 50 each. I wouldn't be a proper trader if I made such measly returns.

Give me a builder token plus the 200, most of these tokens cost 100 supplies, I can count that as an income of (100) adding to the 200 supplies offered making a net income value of (200) {100 general supplies + 100 worth of 1 token}. I'll give Epidemica his 100 initial investment back plus 100 supplies of income, and I can have the token.

I accept your investment of (350) and the terms you have set for them.

Do we have a deal?
>>

1-2. While my traders handle transportation, I take a different faster ship to the capital. I am the Imperial Treasurer, the Emperor appointed me and only an Emperor can unappoint me. I'm heading back to my old office in the Imperial Palace to reassert the authority of my office and help the OITC in their efforts to restart the economy.

I'm going to get some specific items, my Treasurer's Seal to authenticate any letters I sign and my copy of the Imperium Legallum (the Imperial Laws and Decrees set forth by the Emperor, its a great many volumes long and I will need at least three heavy chests to hold them all). This will help me reassert the authority weight of my office as we attempt to restore function to the economy.

Perhaps I shall see Jokah or Cauis while I am there, or the Commander who had not yet revealed his name.

3. (Extra Recruitment Action) Recruiting the Black Legion's 2nd in Commands and Officers 2 / 12

-(Free / Rolls from Last Turn) - Sell 100 supplies of cotton to the Snowpeak civilian market, an get as much Iron Ore and Coal back as I can.

1-2. "Praise the Old Gods and the New! Cotton, Dwarves, Cotton! Warmth and life giving, blessed fruit of the earth!" The Dwarves of the Snowpeaks are in a state of joy and ecstasy at the prospect of receiving so much cotton, and being able to properly warm their bodies without using the itchy hair and skin of the dead or dangerous Yeti fur. Mothers and wives and daughters size up the men, and prepare to knit and repair old clothing, and sow new coats for families and prepare spaces in their homes to line walls and floors with cotton rugs, curtains, and pillows to keep the heat in. Miners and families line up by the hundreds in the elevator docks, bringing buckets and boxes of cold metallic rock in exchange for precious cotton.

It is a day of celebration, and prayers and praise are spoken the sacred mushroom caves. Today a new cultural ritual is made, one revolving around the gift of warmth and life by the gods old and new, the Day of Warmth.

Hi Bello! I have something special to ask you about my capital.

So I haven't talked about it in a while but I hope you haven't forgotten about the Nephropidae, it was the great big enormous lobster land exploring ship that I used to escape Atlantis and was big enough for hundreds of crew. When I took over my lands, I made it that the homonculi joined us aboard the ship as crew to help man the ship after a lot of people didn't make it from Atlantis. That's why I call my place an "expedition" because we all live in the ship and we're all on a big exploring journey over land!

I hope this is all fine. Because if I have a capital, I want it to be my ship where me and my crew are. Are you okay with that? When the ship isn't moving it would probably be on the west coast on the water instead of the land.

>Skills: Wise
>Bonus: [Inexperienced leader]
Currently no bonus.

>nation fluff: Nepzusa is a quiet backwater of the empire, situated north of the west castle, and notable for 2 things. First, nearly 1000 years before the game, a whale vomited a nearly 20 foot long monolith on the north coast, where the locals raised it in an event called the Advent of the First sign. The Church of the monolith believes primarily 1, that all gods who don't wantonly torture their follows, act villainously, or demand human sacrifices, are valid and worthy of worship, and 2, that many cultural practices of theirs, such as washing their hands before they eat, praying and temple-visiting mostly on 1 specific day of the week, giving charitably to other members of the church, and striving for greatness in craft, deed, or legacy, is the point of existence. Nepzusa is ruled by a Patriarchatus, who is elected by a synod of learned elders, teachers, and temple priests, it is an elected position, not a hereditary position, though Patriarchatus may sire children and may have a spouse, IF, they were married before they ascended to the holy office. Up until very recently, Nepzusi were a non-proselytizing religion, so they are primarily humans, with small numbers of other generally civilized fantasy races (such as dwarves and elves), and there is no onus on nonhuman members of the church, which is allowed.

A message, sealed with the office of the patriarch's steeple-cap and 2 keys, and sealed with Naderonous's seal, a holy man looking serene, standing on a whale's forehead with a monolith on a coast to the left and gods to the right, the holy man holding 2 keys in one hand and an hourglass in the other hand, the motto reads "TE DEABUS LAUDAM" which means 'To Worthy Gods we pray'.

The letter opens with a short, simple blessing.

"May your wallet be heavy with monies and your horses seldom tired."

"We formally request that a representative of the valdean estates attend a diplomatic meeting with a representative of nepzusa, the subject of the meeting's agenda is to be the possibility of opening a trading post within nepzusa, as well as preliminary formal diplomatic connections beyond simply trading partners. This meeting is to be at the Arch of Neutrality, and the laws regarding neutrality are to be in effect-" meaning only ceremonial or display-only armor/weapons is allowed but functional weapons and armor are not. "-and is to be a public meeting."

Several seals of Epistoli (bishops), Patrofilia (Cardinals) and Liturgosi (priests and priestesses) follow.

"Touching upon religious matters, in brief, since rebuilding the economy would result in help happiness prosperity and wealth for the kingdoms, we additionally would inform you that succeeding in such an effort is grounds to make a deceased ancestor of your lineage a saint, provided they are of suitable moral character and not a being of darkness or undeath."

Judging from Naderonous's depiction on the seal, he is in his early nineties.

1. The rumors of Bluholm trying to undermine Count Sohnzwei's authority were grave, but in the end they were just that. Still he could not allow these assumptions to go uninvestigated. An organization would be founded who's goal was to keep a close eye on potential subversive activities and keep an eye on whatever matters occupied the Cursed Lords and the Common Folk.

2. The Witches had taken a rather laid back approach to supporting the Army through healing and whatnot. However with more sophisticated handling of Dark Magic came a host of opportunities. They should receive training in casting various magic missiles to harrass their enemies at range and inflict terrifying damage.

3. Count Sohnzwei drew up a law. From this day forward the Armed Forces of Salvynia should be required to keep their skills sharpened through regular training during which they would receive the Dark blessing of their Lord. The Project aimed to provide a large scale boost to the Salvynian's combat prowess, as well as make full use of their advances in the fields of Dark Magic.

A messanger entered and pressed a small piece of paper into the Count's hands, the latter quickly read it, his face remaining expressionless.

"Hm.", the piece of paper disintegrated within his hands, "It would appear I may become a hypocrite just yet.", looking out into the barren Salvynian wastes the Count let out a sigh, "There has been a rather pressing matter, though I do not wish to act on until it has been sufficiently confirmed.".

Turning his gaze back to the Dwarf he continued, "I plan on finding the Emperor's rightful Heir. It may take a bit longer than expected, but I will send out my people as soon as this matter is dealt with.".

"I hold no illusion that the other Lords trust my words or ambitions. If I were to show up with the Emperor's rightful Heir tomorrow it might as well be a Street Urchin.", the Count threw a glance over at a Wine bottle that was standing on a nearby table. An Early Empire Vintage from Epidemica.

"What I need is not your trust but your suspicion. A Companionship of People who distrust each other just enough for none of them to give up the Search. Together we can find an Heir. One that will appease all the Counts.", Sohnzwei shrugged, "Or at least the Majority of them. Naturally if we were to convince more Lords to support us in our endeavor this would only further its Legitimacy.".

"Do let me know of your decision while I go uncover what I naively hope to be nothing more than a big unfortunate misunderstanding. Enjoy what hospitalities we have to offer regardless of your decision.".

In the doorway the Count turned around one last time, "Oh and of course.", he took a slight bow, "Welcome to Salvynia, Child of the Snowpeaks. May your reign last as Eternally as our Nights.".

Before Caius could leave for the six rivers a messenger clad in a blue cloak arrived before him.

"A message from our leader" The messenger then handed a parchment sealed with the new republics insignia. The letter inside read as followed.

"To Caius Serviluis,

It has come to my attention that you are scouting out my lands so that you may crush my peoples Who in your eyes rebels that declared independence from the empire which just isn't true. As of writing this letter I have been forced to postpone our elections and prevent a referendum or a nation wide vote in layman's terms on whether or not we are to enter the empire once again or remain independent though I am a supporter of the second option however I am the servant of the people and must let them decide even though I dislike people such as yourself but I digress. I want your guarantee that for the next turn we shall not be attacked by the empire or surrounding provinces whilst my masters, the people, decide whether or not they stay withing the empire.

Sincerely Baku"

The palace of Epidemica was dominated by white alabaster pillars and a large iron dome over where court was usually held . Court ended early today on account of two things; publicly it was the rain that threatened to fall heavily or so said the soothsayers and secretly it was the unexpected deteriorating health of Bob Hexxus.

To think he would leave the throne during the prime of his life at eighty-two after having ruled for merely twenty-fire years, correction, post-prime. Many of the line had endured long rules into their two-hundred-twenties and Bob had inherited the throne at a time where he had been out adventuring and building his strength, making good use of his inherent virility to explore the untamed lands of the Empire gathering companions to discover lost secrets and protect the people of the realm like the Emperor's Knights of Old. He would use the remainder of his strength to quest for a sage who could cure the curse on Epidemica restoring the vaunted strength and long life of the last age.

He was about to resolve to journey out when Ruber's letter arrived and he had remembered wondering if Ruber's time in Nepzusa would alter his son's direct way of communicating his thoughts and feelings but I suppose people don't change that easily atleast his script has improved considerably after so much study. It may have been something that he could not convey with letters and in the time it takes to gather all the supplies and enlist the aid of companions or descendants of companions to join him in his quest he would use that time to meet with his son and confirm his feelings.

A letter comes from Epidemica's King and Governor Bob Hexxus it requests the presence of your Lords or heirs so that a discussion can be had about the future of the Empire and the Imperial Colonies. A letter arrives from Epidemica's Prince Ruber with directions to a [Cove] attached. It is written in a pleasant script but direct in its wording.
"You are invited to a secret meeting of Lords of the Empire. If you do not attend you may send your heir. It is your right to abstain from any such meeting not held by the Emperor. You may also send conditions of your kingdom's endorsement to any decisions made by the gathering. Good Health and Good Fortune."

"With the Emperor dead and the Royal Army in a state of inaction it is about time that the surviving Imperial Provinces make efforts to support a movement against rebel and militant states who threaten to continue their hostilities against well-to-do Imperials. There is opportunity here to salvage the institutions of the Empire to the benefit of every Imperial Citizen so I hope you will arrive with all due haste.

1-2: Build a Harbor.
>>
>>1221921
"Lady Nema, with your permission I would like to commission your new Steel Mill to convert some Snowpeak iron ore and coal into steel.

I also request to purchase one of your tokens. I could do this myself by other means, but I am asking you directly as you are a fellow member of the Trade Company and a respected friend of Lord Seaworth.

If you wish to request payment for the services of your building, I am open to them."

>>1219378
"Lord Blundt. I believe there has been an ambiguity in your request for '50% of the profits to be returned in steel'.

I would remind you that it is the iron ore and, after processing, the steel which is the product to be sold. I can convert your investment of 350 units of Iron/Coal into steel with Lady Nema's permission and sell it, and give you a 50% return of the profits.

If you have any alternative suggestions or requests, say so."
>>
Can I join?

Why do some players control more than one country in this game?
>>
>>1223292
"You have 500 supplies of Iron+Coal between our investment and your own earnings. We request 100 be returned as immediate steel. You may keep your 150 as it is yours, and the rest you may sell at if you promise to come back to us with more goods. The dwarves of the Snowpeaks would greatly appreciate some Albertonian commodities on your next visit, but more cotton is also welcome. We will try to have more ores waiting for your return."
>>
>>1223405
People shouldn't control more than one county (unless they conquered it). You do technically also control your Lord and the units though.

The Castles and Capital do not belong to Nema, they are simply unoccupied at this time.

You can join as a hero (pretty much 100% certain) or ask for Colhen or Hawthorne's territory since they havent shown up in a bit.

I'll let you pay just 25 too because you're also Arthur's friend and part of the big company business thing."

>>1222061
"Um. . .I can't really go there in private unless you hold the meeting near some water. If you do I guess I'll show up."

I am also informing you that in the near future I will be selling some stocks of steel provided to myself by the dwarves. I offer this steel at a rate of 300 Supplies per 100 Steel or otherwise 3 Supplies per 1 unit of Steel. A second private letter also arrives to Arthur Seaworth.

"Lord Seaworth, I have a proposal to make with you. I intend to use my influence as Treasurer to start up a new central bank, seeing that the Emperor's vast wallet is no longer available to provide the empire with an influx of capital.

But I do not believe that Scythia and my estate are suitable or secure places for this. With your permission, I would like to establish my bank in your lands. This will be most profitable to both of us, I will have the benefit of Albretonian security by sea and proximity to her trade hub, and you will benefit from increased business via the bank. And I'm sure, everyone will benefit from having a secure place to store their wealth and earn an interest on it.

I eagerly away your reply.

Valdean Rothouse, Emperor's Treasurer

Invictus Imperium, Long Live the Empire."

I am not unfamiliar with these pesky officials. Even in the time of the emperor, they were always very indecisive and disconnected, they had to be pushed to do anything. But I'm also an expert lobbyist, and I know how to negotiate. I'll start convincing the officials of the importance of our task, if I must I will go to the capital to do so myself.

They need to down from their, in some cases literal, ivory towers and look at the people meandering the streets begging for food and work, I will bring them on tours, show them the effects of a defunct capital on the provinces. The emperor would not have preferred a stagnant capital and a waning empire to prosperity and plenty, that was his goal in creating the empire. The capital and the economy must be restored.

A temporary meeting zone with 2 guards bearing ceremonial-only weapons, but bearing openly worn chestplates, with puffy trousers, 3 large feathers in their ornate helmets, it seems the military here is mostly ceremonial, as neither of them bears a true weapon that is obviously seen.

Attending the meeting as a body are the following; 3 Patrofilia, 3 Epistoli, 2 Liturgosi, and Naderonous. The patrofilia wear purple Mohawk caps and red robes, the epistoli wear blue steeple caps and red robes, and the liturgosi wear both Mohawk caps and steeple caps, some wearing 1, some wearing the other, and blue robes. 1 Epistoli is a woman and 1 liturgosi is a woman.

After it is personally blessed by Naderonous, a refreshment of wine and bread is served.

Naderonous: "I, Naderonous, patriarch of the monolith, welcome you to nepzusa. Long has it been believed that one of the points of existence is to bring wealth and prosperity to ones family, and that there is no harm in seeking money so long as it is gained by an above board means. It is my belief that a single, standardized coinage, with fixed weight and value, set by a lawful authority and mutually agreed by all attendant kings, would facilitate a great deal of unity and co-operation among the peoples of this land. The appointed representative has prepared an additional speech in which the formal plan is to be put forward, so I now turn the meeting over to him."

Naderonous stands and makes a holy sign, then speaks a few short phrases in etruro, before sitting back down. A paterfilia receives some papers from an Epistoli and then speaks.

Essentially the deal is as follows.

>Rothouse opens a trading post in nepzusa
>Nepzusa and Rothouse ally to try and repair & stabilize the economy
>Pending formal treaty signing; a 7 year peace guarantee between rothouse and nepzusa is in place
>pending a second & distinct treaty signing; a bank shall exist in nepzusa which shall be situated upon legally established neutral ground and shall loan only to banking establishments which become insolvent for any reason,
>caveat: this bank shall be under the authority of the treasury, yet also under the authority of the patriarch as his role as a king, and subject to closed door no-disclosure* verdict inquiry if wrongdoing is found.

The official has been promoted since your last visit and he is now Secretary of Commerce for Epidemica.
"We have developed new techniques in glass production and have improved our cotton industry so we would like to once more invest in a merchant mission to Hawthorne. This time half the goods will be Cotton and the other half will be Lanterns that with a cotton-wick and Roan Whale Oil to burn will produce light for the miners protected from the draft by sturdy Epidemican glass that comes in several luxurious colors. The increased production of their mines by these lanterns and cotton coats would lead to more plentiful ore reserves. Plentiful. Cheap. Ore. Which Epidemica would like to share in." He smiles at the promise of the outrageous demand for Epidemican goods this latest product would spark.

"Mmmm yes the Steel, well, we don't currently have much demand for a bulk amount of steel except perhaps for military armaments but even then we don't possess certain technologies to make good use of it for the moment. The more Epidemica spends on this the less we can invest on more profitable missions after all not to mention the current state of the economy, yet, this finished product is rather tempting if it means we also gain a technology as powerful as [Steel] then 300 it will be and you can take it out of our trade profits. We hope you will also open a Bank in Epidemica to help finance the expansion of our industries. I presume you are open to another merchant mission to Hawthorne?"

These mushrooms, once thought to bring good health and luck, actually did for they seemed to cleanse and filter the air. Dwarves who breathed in their vicinity found the air thick and rich, like the air in other lands, and some had been saved by dangerous gases fleeing into these caves.

The Dwarves develop these Shroom Air-Cyclers. It will allow them to fight and work harder in the Snowpeaks without losing breath and fatigue and give them an edge in combat by pumping their lungs full of fresh clean air, and help protect against dangerous airborne threats.

1. For someone to gain easy access to his chambers was certainly an uncomfortable reality for Count Sohnzwei. The Child demanded power, a lot of it. Then again this was Salvynia, there were numerous ancient and dangerous creatures that lurked in the shadows. One ambition more secretive than the next. Sohnzwei would give in to its request, after all how did the saying go? Curiosity killed the Count.
(Tokens subtracted)

2. Now that hopefully he had a revealing chat with his visitor it was time to make sure stuff like that didn't start to become the norm. More effort was to be put into this whole investigative services business.
+ Spies 1/4

3. A set of statues would be built in the Capital.

Three Cursed Lords, a Vampire, a Werewolf and a Witch, wearing noble garments, kneeling in front of a statue of Count Sohnzwei. He would hold his hands above them as a sign of Protection and Blessing.

Behind him there would be another statue, one considerably greater, towering over the Count by a whole three heads. The late Emperor Bello. Struck from stone he would hold his hands over the Count's head in Protection and Blessing, much like Sohnzwei held his hands over his own Vassals.

4. Meanwhile summoning continued.

"We hereby formally declare, affirm, and pronounce, that the void worship cult is deleterious to the public good, harmful to the soul, blasphemous, and a blight upon this land. May its priests and followers be pummeled for eternity by hailstones and burning coals."

"We condemn the abominations of greenwhich to eternal torture in fire and lightning, holding their claim on that land as invalid and utterly without merit, following the ancient tradition as such, what would normally be wrongdoing, if done against the insects, transfers merit to the one who has done it, and is without any weight of sin."

"We hereby additionally declare and affirm that there is absolutely no sin whatsoever in slaughtering the insects by whatsoever means, and that their claims on any personal property are to be held as invalid, utterly null, and holding no weight."

"Finally, we condemn, blast, damn, and excoriate all creatures of darkness and undeath, and proclaim that from this moment forward and forever after, that what would normally be wrongdoing, if done against creatures of darkness or undeath, is a great boon in the eyes of the gods upon those that successfully complete such a task."

"In closing, we state here and affirm for all time that there is absolutely no sin whatsoever in slaying the insects by whatsoever means, and absolutely no sin whatsoever in slaying the followers of the void cult by skinning them alive, burning them to death, stoning them to death, or pouring fluid metal down their throats, and that forcing confession of stubborn followers of this cult by using the pulling and crushing torture or the clenching torture conveys no weight of sin, finally that said persons are to be considered heretics, and utterly without legal right to own property or live upon the land they have claimed, all properties as such may be extracted from them without sin."

Pulling & crushing = brutal dental torture, teeth are yanked out or left in and crushed to a pulp

Clenching = knee-caps squeezed in a press until they split and burst

The message ends with the seals of numerous Paterfillia, Epistoli, and Liturgosi.

On the very morning of the ceremony between Roa and Albreton comes the distinct sight of a Roani ship. Splendidly decorated and manned by a full compliment of crew, atop the deck stands Lord Bryne, clad in his furred great-coat and a silver eyepatch, hands clasped in front of him. To one side stands his daughter in an off-white dress and a whalebone tiara; to his other side stands his son, clad quite similarly to his father. Both look equal amounts excited and nervous; Lord Bryne himself is as stoic as ever, impassive. He has forgone his eyepatch: his empty left socket stares out at his peers as he closes in to come side-to-side with the Albretonian ship.

Dear General Caius Servilluis of the Imperial Military

I, Krogar Six-Rivers write you this letter in hopes of brining Imperial attention and request aid against the rebel lord of Roa who has launched assaults into Six-Rivers slaughtering fishermen, murdering guards and plundering our lands. In the past months the Roani have also blockaded are fishermen from access to our ancestral fishing grounds which both provinces once shared. I muster what men I can to defend my lands but with the threats from the sea and the vile insects which claw at our border we are in great need of aid.

May the Empire watch over us,
Lord Krogar Six-Rivers

Michael is always ready to talk to his older brother! That's the one who likes the bio stuff right? You told me he doesn't breathe water like you since he's more human, but he can hear you from inside the ship. Tell him to stop by

I know you're worried Michael. I'm worried too. I hope whatever happens, this thing of yours will be used for the good of the empire

1. I just got an urgent message from Arthur. I know its hard to say crew but, um. . .we're going to have to dismantle the steel mill. No no no not destroy it! Just um. . .well, we have to take it apart and store as much of the important parts as we can. There's something fishy going on, but we gotta listen to Arthur

Try to take some of the important parts of the Steel Mill and store it in my ship for now, the working parts. We'll rebuild it later maybe somewhere else, or I'll figure out a way to make a better compact version on my ship. The rest of the building we can leave empty I guess, it's only brick and stone

2-3. Crew, I'm going to need to tighten up our security. There's some smuggling going on again, and there may be even more pirates than everyone thought. We're going to need to get you guys armed and ready okay!

I'll raise some of my crew to be soldiers, as many as I can! I'll even spend a big 100 supplies for this, hopefully I get two or even three

Use Michael's Generator to make the supplies even more effective!

2. Upon hearing news of continuos raids upon the Trolls of the Six Rivers, Caius cancels his plans to establish a spy network in Bluholm and makes way with whatever men he can scrounge up to resolve this issue without further bloodshed. Even the rebels were not yet in armed combat, so two loyal provinces fighting each other was inexcusable, and posed a threat of civil war. He knew that this was the most pressing matter at the moment, for open war between loyalist could not be allowed to come about.

The very same Albretonian galley returns bringing Arthur and his children. Once before an exchange of hostages, now an exchange of grooms and brides. Royal mermen guard rise from the waves, saluting with their harpoons as the Galley docks side by side with the Roani ship. Arthur is there wearing his ceremonial outfit of the King of Albreton. His son Albert by his side, the merfolk lad much taller and of broader chest and arm than he was those years ago, a slight scar on his chin. He could not but help stare in awe and wonder at Aric's daughter, was this gorgeous beauty the very same lass he had come to know so fondly rowing her fathers boats? To Arthur's other side, young Julia. More human than her brother, to the naked eye she would seem entirely human but the slight webs between her fingers and toes and the small gills hidden on her ribcage were the signs of her merfolk heritage. Julia's dress was of the whitest Epidemica cloth, and a tiara adorned in pearls and precious stones plucked from the sea. She smiled seeing Varic again, the clever boy she shared so many adventures with, wearing a Roan coat just like the warrior man that stood next to him. She was a little intimidated by his father, seeing the resemblance, and wondering if she would be a good wife or welcomed to their home. Varic smiled back, she calmed and remembered he too had lived in Roa for the first time since he could remember. If he could do it, so could she.

There were three priests assembled that day, each to give a blessing. A merfolk priest of the Old Man of the Sea, a priest of the new gods and the Emperor's faith, and one of Roa. Each would chant their prayers, and impart their wisdom to the couples, wishing them and the unity of the two kingdoms many blessings. It felt like a long time, but then it seemed so sudden that they were sharing rings and vows to each other. Before they knew it, they were lost in each others kisses people cheered and music played. They had to make themselves break away and not make a scene.

The two ships now bore the smell of a great feast as tables arrayed on both brought out much food. Roasted fish and animals of the deep, coated in spices and shared with fruit and wine from OITC trade. The newlyweds were given their own table. The nobility of Albreton and Roa were not very close, but Arthur and Aric sat by each other as the party went on.

"Once I was loathed to give away my son, but now I gladly give away my daughter. Varic is a fine lad, and I know he will care for her. And from what Albert has been telling me, your daughter will lever lack for love in Albreton. My people will adore her as princess, and one day as queen."

1-3+4.(Free Recruiting action) I've been informed of renewed efforts of smuggling and possible piracy. Never was a time more needed for a return of the Black Legion than now. I double my efforts to recruit members of the Black Legion and their officers. Very soon I will also need to recruit their actual soldiers as well. The empire needs the emperor's chosen soldiers to defend her lands, who aren't made inert by his absence 5/12
(I would like to spend whatever supplies necessary to get this action completed, and maybe get some actual legion soldiers too. Starting with +100 supplies but more as needed.)

(Free Trader Action) There's been a chance of plans. My sailors are to drop off the Iron/Coal at Roa where it will be safe, for now. Then the ship is to sail to Captain Nema's location. Luckily, since they have already been traveling from Snowpeaks headed west they should already be very close.

I myself continue my travel to the Capital.

>Nepzusa and Rothouse ally to try and repair & stabilize the economy
We will agree to this if you agree to also by extension hold no hostilities to our other allies, namely, those associated with the Outer Imperial Trading Company
>Pending formal treaty signing; a 7 year peace guarantee between rothouse and nepzusa is in place
Agreed on the condition *that Nepsuza does not also attack our allies or our associates
>pending a second & distinct treaty signing; a bank shall exist in nepzusa which shall be situated upon legally established neutral ground and shall loan only to banking establishments which become insolvent for any reason,
>caveat: this bank shall be under the authority of the treasury, yet also under the authority of the patriarch as his role as a king, and subject to closed door no-disclosure* verdict inquiry if wrongdoing is found.
Agreed on the condition* this bank is not considered the central or suprmee bank of the empire but the supreme imperial bank within Nepsuza and within her borders. a new central Imperial bank may be established elsewhere and it is expected that an effort will be made to align and organize the banks under one united imperial banking system.
furthermore an effort will be made to reassert the Imperial Credit as the primary and ultimate fiat currency of the empire, although provinces are allowed to mint their own scrips to be used soley within their border.
>Rothouse opens a trading post in nepzusa . . .and repair & stabilize the economy
Agreed upon convenience of peace and time. There may be a renewed conflict against piracy or other threats to the empire very soon, and it may become the focus of Rothouse efforts for the forseable future and we may not be able to immediately pursue this goal.

Sometime later, a huge metal lobster can be felt walking near the nests by the bugs. It's the Nephropidae, the big land walker ship of Captain Nema that Azok had seen before in Kol'talla. A speaker at the front projects her voice out, wet and bubbly.

"Hello? Hello? This is Captain Nema! I'm looking for Lord Azok 'The Defiler!'. We want to talk with you if we can please"
>>
>>1232912
After having returned to his kingdom, Azok goes out and meets this strange metal Lobster.

"Greetings strange and funny looking thing. I am Azok, God emperor of the hivekinghive. What business do you have with us??"
>>
>>1232924
The lobster lays low, and opens its big eye. It's a window, inside Azok can see water and a mermaid. Behind her are some other fish people and a few homonculi humans that don't seem to mind being underwater.

"Greetings Azok. This is my ship the Nepropidae, and I'm Captain Nema of it. I think we met in Kol'talla, I told the others I'd recognize your rule.

I come here because, well, we've neighbors for a while now. I wanted me and my crew to see your lands for the first time. My crew were a bit afraid of bugs before, but they're smart and after they learned about them they aren't suspicious anymore. In fact, the homonculi like that you have thinker types too.

I have some business with you too. I think neighbors should be kind and look out for each other, and there's a lot we can learn and share. My apprentice Michael is working on a machine that can turn supplies into delicious bug food and we would love to welcome some of your thinkers to our research facility.

I also wanted to ask if you would like us to protect each other. There's been a lot of danger these days, and even the pirates and smugglers might be coming back! I, Captain Nema, extend an offer of a defensive and research pact. We'll work together against threats to us both, and help each other in other ways too. There's a lot we can share to you, and I think Arthur and his friends would be okay with giving us some supplies for research."

The Vertias made its way to the coordinates. Ruber and Bob had come to enjoy the happy occasion breaking out casks of Early Imperial Epidemican Wine. Bob drank and laughed with the bridegrooms slapping the empty casks when they were finished and tossing them overboard. He would introduce them to Ruber who would soon ascend to the Epidemican throne for Bob would be going on an adventure as a sort of retirement. Ruber himself an imposing physical presence even on the ship of vigorous sailors had been drinking stoically throughout the night and it began to effect him as he pleasantly recounted his time in Nepzusa among scholarly philosophers and his childhood horse riding lessons where he had first learned what it meant to be without pain. He listened intently to the blessing of the merfolk priest and let his curiosity take him towards the brides to see what they had learned of the others peoples.

A carriage arrives. Out of it steps a young girl in a pretty dress, in the style of Our Territory.

"Hello! My name is Amanda Lofty, I'm from Our Territory and the homonculi. But I think these days people think of it more as Nema's Expedition. It's a funny sounding name, but we don't mind.

Though Vivienne and Veric had been elated and giddy to the point of intoxication all throughout the ceremony and, certainly, afterward once the wine and rum was brought out, their father remained as cool as ever, even as shot after shot of rum disappeared into his gullet. He seemed quite at ease, casting his eye upward to admire the calm blue sky and the slowly setting sun. At Arthur's speech, Aric turned to glance at him, having to swivel his head further than most to actually look at the other lord.

"Varic has been talking about this for months. The boy knows that it's his hide if he mistreats her, not that he ever would... Vivienne's doing her mother proud. Her sister's been green with envy from the moment your letter arrived."

Aric reached for a meaty crab leg, bringing an iron cracker to bear and beginning to crush the thing open. "As we tie our domains together there's less pleasant business to discuss, Arthur. You're mobilizing to hunt down pirates. I have been busy directing my men to take back our fish from the trolls that've stolen it, and even now they seek to challenge us for our very waters. In due course these raids should be over with and the trolls' naval ambitions crushed by the time I return to Roa. After which I will personally lead a force in aiding you against this pirate threat... but after, I would ask that you aid Roa in conflict against the Six Rivers trolls."
>>
>>1232986
"Hooray! And don't worry new allies, we've got big claws too!"

The steel lobster claws of the Nephropidae lift themselves up in the air making loud snapping noises.

"And we'll use them to protect you too if we have any say about it! Hey, my cousin Arthur said it was always important to make any deal in paper for some reason. Would you like to sign one? We have seaweed paper and ink, but we feel like we can trust you new friends."

"I had Arthur write up these papers for me, he's much better at this sort of thing."

There's a sound of rushing air and a hatch door opens, and out steps a homonculi holding a flat green piece of paper and a bowl of squid ink.

"This paper just says exactly what we promise to each other. "Our Territory" or, well people call it "Nema's Expedition" for some reason, recognizes "HiveKingHive" as a legitimate kingdom, and vice versa. We pledge to protect each other when attacked, and to help each other when needed. We'll be kind to our allies and friends, and stand together against our enemies. I've signed my name already, I guess it will work if you dip your claw in the ink and make your mark that way."
>>
>>1233297
Azok takes his claw, dips it in ink, stares at the paper, a bit mystified and wierded out by these strange creatures. He then proceds to tap his claw with ink on the paper Where Nema indikated he should "There we go, that should be it." Azok says, while a servant comes and cleans his claw.

Arthur had finished eating a roasted fish, bones and all, watching Albert and Julia whispering to their respective spouses with giggles and smiles, like the childhood friends they were. He suspected the older pair might try to consummate the wedding night on the very ship ride home.

But he was paying much more attention to the Roani lord's words. He let silence linger for a bit after Aric spoke, before giving his reply.

"Albreton and Roa are as one now. Our merfolk understand the value of blood more than any other in the sea. Any threats to you are a threat to us. We are indeed preparing for a new hunt against piracy, but this will take time. In the course of that time if Albreton is needed to assist your people, it will be so. On my children's lives, we will come to Roa's aid."

The Troll warship is a formidable thing. Manned by hulking beasts, bristling with troll-sized firepower. If Roa is to remain safe, the ship must be dismantled.

The Roan forces strike just as the ship leaves port, or, ideally, before it has even been able to do so. The Roani raiders prioritize burning the ship above all else, but see no reason not to engage in light plunder and the hauling off of unattended supplies while they're at it. 2. Now that hopefully he had a revealing chat with his visitor it was time to make sure stuff like that didn't start to become the norm. More effort was to be put into this whole investigative services business.

After this, other spies will masquerade as sailors who miraculously survived the encounter, and pin the blame upon the legendary mighty beast that prowl the Southern Waters. The Kraken. >Lord's Name: Naderonous, Patriarchatus Monolithious
>Leader fluff: An unexpected candidate for the patriarchate, served as a clerk in several different offices of the church/government in Nepzusa for nearly 50 years before his election, Naderonous ascended to become patriarch at the advanced age of 92 at the specific request of the previous patriarch due to a quirk in the law, he wouldn't have otherwise been selected due to his very advanced age.

>Skills: Wise
>Bonus: [Inexperienced leader]

>nation fluff: Nepzusa is a quiet backwater of the empire, situated north of the west castle, and notable for 2 things.

>That they shall have the right and liberty to sit as part of a tribunal if they have a background in religious law and if a trial of a heretic, demoniac, necromancer, demonologist, or witch-craft user is ongoing, not sitting as part of a tribunal unless this condition is met, and each tribunal having not more than 1 epistoli, the other 2 members being civil and criminal judges.

The troll warship had a shallow draft designed for movement mainly along the Six-Rivers and the coastal regions, allowing it to operate at a much greater speed then the Roan ship which was designed for open ocean. Putting out the oars the warship would lure the Trulmir river leading it into hidden rocks, sharp turns and more narrow channels to bring down the Roan’s movement. With the ship at a disadvantage from both sides Trolls would spring from each side of the river buffeting the ship and raiders with throwing spears before joining in an assault. If worse came to worse, the trolls would sacrifice themselves to save the warship.

"Thank you for having me your holiness. The reason I am here is because of something very important!

Although my name is Amanda Lofty, my given name is actually Homonculi #1947. I was selected by 'The Leade' #1927, to take her place if something were to ever happen to her." as she said this, the young girl made a melancholy frown remembering something.

"One day she never returned. . .and it made us all very sad. . . And so I took up the duty Leader gave to me. To become the next Leader. I had some help too! Captain Nema the mermaid is really smart! She and her big land ship really helped us homonculi get Our Territory and Our Castle back up and running properly. Did you know she's one of the few people in the world with a dual citizenship? Signed by the Emperor himself.

What I am here for is that there has been a lot of confusion about Our Territory, or as people are calling it "Captain Nema's Expedition." There's some big mean rumors that Captain Nema isn't really an Imperial citizen, or that she has no claim to a province. I don't think either of those are true at all, the emperor gave lots of territories to people from beyond the island. But in the first place, I am the rightful born heir of Our Territory, chosen by the Leader to take her place if something happened to her. Captain Nema has been a great help and we homonculi to her all the time, she's something of our best adviser and ally. I certainly don't plan to stop listening to her advice anytime soon!

The Leader said to always make sure everything was done properly, so I've come to ask you to bless my ascension ceremony and spread the word around about Our Territory. Lots of homonculi are believers of the faith, even me! And I would be honored if you would do this for us and spread the truth."

#1 Trist designs a wonderful Earth Powered Worskhop. no doubt this will be of use not only to him, but also to us towards better earth magic. the faculty want to know how it works, and secondly want to ask if he would like to try for a new project. did he mention a Multi-Elemental or an Air Powered Tool?
#2 research into better Earth Magic continues, which will also help with the new Workshop. Earth Magic 6 / 8
#3 Professor Nimbledon pays attention to Emily as a new student. everyone can learn some form of magic, be it potions, crafting reagents, or things not reliant on inherent magical ability, but there was also the theory that everyone had some latent magical ability, they simply had to take time find it. he talks to her in private, asking her about her goals here or what she wants to achieve at Hawthorns.

Naderonous heaves a great sigh and smiles wistfully.

"It is good to see the faith so well practiced and so truly professed. But I fear my candle is reaching the end of it's light, at my age I see Huldr-" the death god "-out of the corner of my eye even when fully awake, at times. I can't travel, and my life is very close to it's end. If the faith is kept and it is part of the great gods plan, the expedition will survive. There is little I can do on that score, though my successor has already been selected, and I will pass the request to him. I haven't performed a yearly act of charity this year, so perhaps you would like to enroll in St. Aegons? You are of age to do this. I will allow it as an act of charity, it would cost you nothing."

Lord's Name:VII
Fluff:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=N8XNBpIkQpU
VII was a member of Emperor Bello's Watchmen, modified human beings, sworn to protect his secrets and defend his empire against threats less suitable to armies. The Watchmen are patriots whose bodies are altered by Imperial magic and science, gifting them with skills beyond those of normal people. They are trained in subterfuge and subtley, and use techniques collected from every corner of the empire. They blend in anywhere, and everywhere. Once chosen by Belllo, they surrender their names, their face, and their lives to him and he gives them a number. VII was the very best of them and their leader, foiling more plots and assassination attempts on Bello's life than any other. The Emperor had many bodyguards, but VII was always unseen among them. When he died, the Watchmen grew quiet, content to protect his body in the Palace as they had always done. Now the Emperor is buried, and his empire is fragile. They swore an oath to protect not just him but his Empire, now they refuse to sit back and leave their duty unfulfilled. VII intends to fulfill his oath and be the Emperor's hand behind the scene and defend the empire.
