For now I think they should remain in their own lands as I don't want them getting whatever sickness our tribe now has. We can just have our hunters divide into two hunter routes that circle through the other two villages with one going to corns village first and the other going to maize's village first with them doing the same thing. this way we can have a reletivly up to date information on the going ons of all three villages and we can just teach the other tribes what we know while learning what they know this way.

Integrating the Skullcrushers and Bloodsippers would prove to be one of the greatest challenges the Crimson Zelleris ever faced. From the start, the two tribes were horribly mismanaged, their feud having been borne of pure sibling rivalry.

Apparently, Korn and Maize were initially born to a tribe to the south of the Volcanic Ring, dwelling on something they referred to as an ‘island’. This tribe, the Seastriders, utilized a curious technology known as ‘sailing’, which allowed them to explore the outer edge of the Volcanic Ring. However, the dangers of the Firey Expanse were deemed too dangerous by the tribe’s Chief, prompting the ire of the twins. They wished to find what riches potentially lay beyond the ring. Directly disobeying the orders of their chief, they ranged into the expanse alone. Shortly into the journey, the two were separated from one another, and wouldn’t reunite until years later.

While Korn and Maize were lost in the expanse, the period of extreme cannibalism began in earnest. As countless tribes fought, died, and feasted on the flesh of their fellow Saiyans, Korn and Maize simply wandered the breadth of the expanse. They slew and ate all manner of dangerous beasts, including the Mawtusks, simply to subsist. Eventually Korn and Maize stumbled upon two different wandering groups of Saiyans, exiles and survivors from multiple extinct tribes. Their time in the expanse had greatly hardened them, and as such they quickly became leaders of their respective groups, stumbling their way into the fertile and hilly area inhabited by the Crimson Zelleris.

When the twins at last met each other once again, they embraced, and then demanded from each other subservience. Neither would give in, leading to constant feuding and conflict between their newly founded tribes. In other words: if one of the pair were less prideful, then they would be a powerful and united single tribe capable of challenging the Crimson. Unfortunately for the Skullcrushers and Bloodsippers were more than pleased to use their tribes as mere weapons in their own personal dispute.

However, one thing of note from this little backstory is the Seastriders. Assuming they are still alive, then perhaps contact could be established with them?

The first step in integration was a massive martial tournament, as typical of the Zelleri tribe. Members of all three tribes entered into a massive brawl, with the winners claiming the losers as mates. This has ‘shifted’ the populations of the three; the weakest Zelleris are now divided between the villages of the former Skullcrusher and Bloodsipper tribes, while many of their stronger warriors were claimed by Zelleris. Of course, this was because Chief Turnip intentionally set the tournament brackets up to achieve this outcome.

As for the villages themselves, the lesser tribes were allowed to continue living on their own lands. However, their tribal identity is to be subsumed by that of the Crimson, and their slave farms (which were almost hilariously mismanaged by the twins) are to be reorganized according to Zelleri standards. Chief’s Second Artichoke reports that the process should be complete in another year or so. Some disgruntled former slave-owners were perturbed by the loss of their property, but were chastised by being publicly executed by Chief Turnip and his son, Chili, whom the Chief decided should practice his ki blasts on live targets.

Speaking of the Chief’s son, he is now no longer than only child of his sire. A little sister, named Bell, was born while the Chief was traveling to meet with Korn and Maize. The child is as healthy and strong as her elder brother, though somewhat louder and more boisterous. Her mother is reportedly exhausted, especially as the Chief’s work with the integration leaves previous little time for parenting.

Further investigation was done into the identity of the shadowy figure. Parsnip was ordered to take his Stalkers to the spot where the slave had witnessed the figure, though sadly no trackable scent was picked up by Tooth and Claw. However, a small bit of a grey metal was recovered from the spot, oddly enough.

Celebrations were had in the family of Chief's Second Artichoke, both for his daughter Coli surviving her first year and Artichoke's 50th birthday.

Further investigations were immediately conducted into the piece of metal found at the sight of the reported ‘shadowy figure’. The former Bloodhounds all agree that the metal is beyond the level of metal-working that the Dragonclaws used when sacking their village. Neither Korn nor Maize are familiar with it either. The few in the tribe who are experts in tool-making unanimously concluded that it is not a metal that is naturally present on Salda, or, at the very least, not one naturally present in the areas of Salda they know of. Where could it have come from, if not from Salda?

As consolation for their befuddlement, the tribe’s toolmakers began an effort to upgrade all of the tribe’s wooden weapons to be composed of bone where it would be beneficial. This process went surprisingly quickly, and the tribe is certainly better off for it. Some metal weapons were also commissioned as part of the ongoing project of the Chief to train professional warriors for the tribe. Due to the strenuous nature of their training and their intended effectiveness in battle, the little metal available to the tribe was prioritized for them.

Unfortunately, not all was proceeding normally in the tribe. As was evidenced by the massive explosion.

Parsnip had been using the noses of his tamed Stalkers to lead the expedition. He would not let their eagerness for flesh distract them and let the cubs escape. It had taken over a month just to locate them, and he’d be damned if he lost them now.

“Over there,” said Cumber, tapping Parsnip on the shoulder and pointing towards the cave entrance. “Look, they’re trying to run back to the den. Stupid little buggers. Should’ve run to somewhere it’d be harder to find them. Reminds me of my own runts. Just had my twentieth, you know."

“Twentieth? Wouldn’t that almost make every tenth child in the tribe yours? If I’m doing the counting right?”

“I don’t know. Never been good with numbers, myself. I try to focus my brain on the females. Now c’mon, we’ve cubs to catch.”

Thankfully, as Cumber had said, the cubs were indeed unintelligent enough to flee from them in a direction where they would be aware of their exact location. There were but two of them, females approaching adulthood. If Tooth and Claw hadn’t ripped her to shreds, they’d likely have been driven from their mother’s den soon enough.

“Hah,” Cumber spoke, wiping the sweat from his brow, “it’s good we finally got the dumb shits.”

“Indeed. Tooth and Claw will have fun with them, once they’re of age. They’re not that different from you when it comes to that.”

“You not comparing me to animals now, are you? I’d be hurt, but one of my best lines is about how much of an animal I am in the bedroom, so I’m not really one to talk.”

“Tooth and Claw are simple beasts. They want flesh, in all the meanings of that word. Actually, just the other day-”

It was at that moment that a near-deafening sound erupted, and a giant burst of energy rose towards the sky. The Saiyans’ heads snapped towards the direction of this sound, and at the realization that it was the same direction as the village they exchanged horrified glances.

“Then I will locate him. Stay here and defend the children,” said Turnip, and with that he ran out of his residence to do exactly as he said he would.

It was not fortunate, then, that when he exited the house, he was immediately slammed in the head with a fist. His eyes closed instinctually out of pain, but when they reopened he could not see his attacker. Despite this, he could still feel a hand encircling his neck.

“Listen,” a voice whispered into his ear, “I do not care for your race or your planet. I could destroy either of them. But if you care at all about the sake of your planet, you will kill that thing.”

The grip on his neck loosened just enough for Turnip to speak.

“There are a number of inquiries I wish to make, first. Namely: who are you, what are you, why are you doing here, and do you have anything to do with the massive explosion I heard just a few moments ago?”

“I am a guardian for someone far beyond your miserly power. I am here to ensure the safety of that someone until their ascension. I have attempted to kill the thing. I will return if I was not successful. Pray that I do not have to.”

Turnip was then unceremoniously dropped to the ground. It was at that moment he noticed that, despite his assailant’s lack of a body, a shadow of a clearly non-Saiyan entity was displayed on the ground before him.

“Damn cloaking device. It’s malfunctioning has attracted too much attention.”

And with that, Turnip was rendered unconscious.

Upon his waking, he received assessments of the damage. Some sort of strange metal object, composed of the same mystery metal as discovered by the stream, had been the epicenter of the explosion. It had been planted in the hovel of Chief’s Second Artichoke, who was thankfully not there at the time of explosion. However, his mate Cauli is in critical condition. Strangely enough, his daughter Coli appears completely unharmed, and a little less sickly than usual.

Shortly thereafter, a concerned Cumber and Parsnip returned to the village. The latter was very distraught at the injuries sustained by his mentor Cauli. Even Tooth and Claw seemed in a bad mood over it, mimicking their owner’s sadness. At least they’d managed to steal two female Stalker cubs.

Other than that, the aftermath of the explosion was a time of trepidation. The Chief turned his attentions towards continuing the restructuring of the slave-farms, as well as the burgeoning military force he was in the midst of training. Nonetheless, his residence was moved to be farther away from that of his second, for unstated reasons.

Korn and Maize, unfazed by the destruction, are instead enthused about the whole debacle. It apparently has them excited about learning ki manipulation, something that the Chief did indeed promise to them. Unwilling to foster the flames of dissent, Turnip gave them training in the basics of ki blasts, though staunchly withheld the knowledge of ki beams from them for now to avoid anymore explosions. (+50 to Korn and Maize’s power levels)

As I already mentioned last thread, I want Bell to not care about fighting per-se (watching violence is still fun for them, cause else she might be to much of a weirdo), but instead just work out all the time, or find new ways to work out. With Turnip preaching about non-violence, it's something of a given his genes would result in a less agressive offspring.

Take the average saiyan's dedication for fighting, and put it into something else. Might lead to interesting results.
Though I'm not saiyan that Bell wouldn't fight. Violence should be more of a tool than a pastime for her.

so a few things we could do

now that the other tribes have been integrated more or less have them build walls around their villages as well.

Make bone armor for our hunters and metal studded armor for our solders if possible

take some war-belchers on a hunting trip or something to see how effective they actually are

Find a way to make the war belchers breed faster.

Put pit traps and bone chimes that are attached to strings that make noise when someone walks over them so that shadow fuck can't sneak around the village so easy anymore.

Put a guard around coli since the shadow asshole seems to be after her.
