You are in command over the Imperial Japanese Battleship Hyuga, starting at the very beginning of December 1941. Due to the will of players and that of the dice, history may go quite differently from what we know. For all intents and purposes, this is a wargame. It is incredibly important that you check the Pastebin link to familiarize yourself with the relatively simple dice mechanics, and to check it somewhat often as I may modify or add new mechanics as time goes on.

Last time on Hyuga Quest, the USS South Dakota was sunk, leaving you in close combat just against the battleship USS Washington, with heavy damage recieved.

Your ship likely cannot receive any more damage, you must go on fighting to the last breath!

The gun positions load once again, aiming at the Washington, spotlights blaring across both ships.

Everybody on both ships can feel the tension of the situation.

Make every shot count

You land ten hits aboard the Washington, managing to completely disable her engines. However, she lands four extremely lucky hits that disable your engines as well.

As both ships begin to come to a halt against their wills, anxiety grows.

Either ship's salvo from this point on could be the other ship's last.

Thirteen of your 15" shells slam into the Washington, one striking the magazine.

A fireball reaches so far into that sky that it can be seen by the soldiers on the island.

Seven 16" strike you as well, knocking out your center battery.

With this, Washington's bow is ripped off by the explosion, and sinks into the depths.

(USS Washington, sunk)

You however, face a new issue.

Getting Hyuga to move.

You must either call for being towed, attempt to get the ship's engines online and hope that you can make your way to Truk, or give the order to abandon ship after calling for a scuttle.

You order that the engines be repaired so you can retreat, and DAMECON immediately gets to work.

Despite the efforts of the DAMECON teams, the engines are unable to get online.

The realization also hits you that Hyuga is too large to be towed by the light ships not far away.

You call a destroyer over, and begin the order to abandon ship.

Even as she is scuttled, which takes three torpedoes, she proves you proud.

End

For a recap, we sunk
CA USS Louisville
CA USS Houston
CA HMS Exeter
CL HMAS Perth
BB HMS Revenge
BB HMS Warspite
CV USS Hornet
DD USS Aylwin
CL USS Juneau
BB USS South Dakota
BB USS Washington

I know this one feels rushed (moreso than usual), but I felt that I really needed to wrap up Hyuga Quest.

Comments, criticism, questions, whatever are all appreciated.

So you did this to just end the quest, Alright. Word of advice. Don't run another one.
