The Blues explain that they practice a form of ancestor worship, and believe that the lake spirits are the unquiet dead of young maidens sacrificed in this lake long ago. They had hoped to invade the city so that they might find a way to placate the spirits. This idea makes its way into Red society, and soon they integrate it with existing beliefs. a big fire destroyed a part of the city, luckily the blue people came from a city of stone and knew how to make houses out of it.
