This will be a tribe-building quest, similar to a Civ.

The tribe will be build/designed according to your answers to the questions that I ask, or according to your actions (when I ask for those).

The setting is an alternate Earth, at the equivalent of the Stone Age, where things have developed in a different way to our world.

First off, how do we look like?

Men have to never submit, but likewise, women need to be strong. That is how it has always been, it's tradition. However, there will be times when a man feels the temptation to submit, or a women feels too weak. How would other tribespeople react to that?

Choose one
>Help them out. Our tribespeople are strong because of the bonds with others.
>Leave them be. It would be disrespectful to butt in. Our tribespeople are strong because of their individual strength.

The Urpean's main pantheon consists of the Sun and Blood. A combination of both, the Red Sun, appears at dawn and dusk. An Urpean child asks about this to the lead of your tribe. What do they reply and who are they?

Your strongest rules with an iron fist, called the Arune (Speaker of the Sun), whose wife is the Priestess of blood. In the Urpean society, it's a grand honor to be the strongest man, or the most voluptuous woman, and its these traits that will earn you those roles.

Its this pair that explains to the child that the Red Sun represents the Start and the End of Life and Death. While pretty philosophical, the child is satisfied with the Speaker's and the Priestess's warm explanation. After all, it's the bonds with your brethren that give Urpeans their strength, so it's customary to help others out when needed.

The Arune's mandate has proven to be an effective method of government. While slightly tyrannical, due to the central premise that bonds with your fellow Urpeans is important, people get along well under his rule.

However, one day, a man from a different tribe is discovered to have been living in hiding near your village, and it has been found that he has been stealing food. This is unacceptable! Given that he's a total stranger, the Arune would need to base himself on traditional teachings and wisdom to judge this outsider. Also, he wishes to join your tribe.

How would the Arune proceed?

>Urpean blood is superior to all others. This isn't a man, but vermin. Take him as a slave.
>The man will be judged like any other Urpean as a fellow human. After punishment, he can join, and adhere to your culture and rules like any other Urpean.
or
>Write in

Later on, one of the strongest young hunters in the tribe, a good prospect to become the next Arune, arrives to the current leader. He already has a wife, but he wishes to have another. Whats more, he already has several other lovers. What should be his verdict?

>He can have another wife and the lovers. Urpeans are Polygamous and enjoy open relationships.
>He can have another wife but he should't have the lovers. Urpeans are Polygamous, but further relationships must be formalized.
>He can't have another wife but he can keep the lovers. Urpeans are Monogamous and enjoy open relationships.
>He can't have another wife and he shouldn't have the lovers. Urpeans are Monogamous, having other lovers is taboo.

I'm here.

The man was judged like any other Urpean, having to give back what he had stolen. After that he could join you, as long as he adhered to your culture. Of course, he wasn't nearly as strong as the other men here, however, he might be able to get a wife from the smaller sized women, if he was lucky enough. The stronger men typically boasted a harem of a couple women. Urpeans where polygamous after all.

The hunter that wanted to have another wife is granted the Arune's approval, however, those lovers of his had to be dealt with. Either he marries them as well, or he shouldn't be with them. What about the feelings of the wifes he already had! It would be disrespectful.

Men obviously wanted to prove themselves to be the more capable and most worthy to the women, and the women would want to appeal the most they can to the men. How would they do that?

>What is the main form of competition among the male Urpeans? (Fishing? Wrestling? Stone-skipping? Painting?)

Wrestling is the most popular pastime for the Urpean bachelours. Other treats such as craftsmanship, crafting jewelery, kickboxing or mock-war are also enjoyed, while running is a featured way to train stamina.

Women on the other hand focus on bringing out their natural assets. Given that womanly curves are very prized, its common for women to share their idle time making cupless bras which highlight how large their bosoms have grown to be. Additionally, other garments which underline how narrow their waist is or how wide their hips are are popular as well (less so than the bras though), along unique hair-styling.

Now and then, your tribe finds other people, because to thrive more, they have to spread more. The other humans tend to look a bit weird, and smaller (because they aren't blessed by the Sun and Blood, the Arune would argue), and sometimes, they're hostile. Like with the stranger encountered before, your people generally don't take in slaves or the sort, and instead aim to convince them to join them (despite their disadvantageous size). However now and then, a woman or a man from the outside would prove to be particularly blessed, which serves to enrich your population's genepool, thus the strength and beauty of your people.

Your tribe primarily fights others through unleashing their private army of domesticated Wolves, Gorillas or giant Spiders. The upkeep of such beasts was obviously high, however, it was worth it, as being able to overpower rival tribes and incorporate them into your culture has allowed you to spread further. Gracious be the Sun and Blood.

However, like your beasts, which when bred, sometimes develop weird traits (more often bad that good, unfortunately), in a few rare occasions, something peculiar happens in your people. They're exceptionally muscular - even since being mere babies, or they reach boar-sized breasts (a very treasured feat) in no time, and continue to grow larger at seemingly no end. (Lack of myostatin mutation and gigantomastia)

These eccentrics who seemingly have an unnaturally fast lane to the honors of the blessings of the Sun and Blood have become very controversial. Some argue that they're the product of witchcraft or demons, perversions of humanity which should be disposed of. Others argue that they're chosen of the gods, and should be respected and accepted as such.

The Arune has to choose what the policy and tradition from here onwards will be for these cases.

>How does the Urpeans deal with genetic 'freaks' that carry arguably 'positive' traits?
>How does the Urpeans deal with other genetic deviants (down syndrome, other deformations)?
>>
>>1056829
>Use as warrior in the front line
>They can live with us but can not have children
>>
>>1056829
Spartan those mother fuckers. Breed the ones with obvious positive traits and throw the downers off cliffs.

Give like, a 10 year wait period to determine that though.
>>
>>1056853

>>
>>1056853
Going to third this.
We've no time for defects, they're thrown to the animals for meat or thrown off a cliff.
>>
>>1056867
URPEANS STRONG!!
>>
>>1056829
This one. >>1056853
>>
And so, it was confirmed.

These peculiar cases were people whose blood had been chosen by the gods to enrich and strengthen your people. As such, they were given honors and privileges to breed them into the population and share the blessing.

Deformities were to be removed, though, and typically thrown off a cliff at 10 years of age.

Eventually, as Urpeans became larger, it became common for the young men to be able to wrestle and overpower the tamed war-Gorillas with their hulking physique. Strength co-bred with the women's asset sizes as a peacocking mechanism, as only women truely strong and healthy enough to carry at least the new boar-sized breast minimum could thrive and continue their lineage.

Embracing the deviant traits came at a price. Given their breed, they required large amounts of food to sustain themselves. Famine was incredibly fatal, with periods of drought or long winters becoming something very feared.

However, the Urpeans would find a solution. Famine was always a concern of the brighter minds in the Urpean populace, as well as the Blood Priestess's meditations.

Choose one:
>One technological advancement which would help fight famine (Better meat conservation techniques? Breeding the Wolves/Gorillas/Spiders into a domesticated species for meat?)
>Or two technological advancements to fight famine, but they must have a religious subtext, related to the Sun and Blood (Early blood-writing and basic astrology to predict the bad times?)
>>
>>1057043
2. 2 > 1.
>>
>>1057043
>Two technological Advancements

>Astrology to predict the seasons

>an annual blood drive, where the healthiest and strongest warriors cut their wrists, giving their blood to farmers for them to water the crops, so the crops may grow just as strong as the warrior they feed.

>>

>Astrology to predict droughts.
"Father Sun's might while great is can also be terrible. Look to the stars that hide from Father's might for they warn when Father Sun banishes the rain."

>Edible crops of Bloodgrass which can be grown with both blood and water
"Though Father's might will banish the rain, Mother Blood's gift thrives in the blood of our enemies. Spill freely the blood of captives in worship and in praise of Mother's bounty."
>>
The Blood Priestess develops a way to employ those who hide from Father Son, the stars, to your advantage. Astrology. Through it, the Urpeans can now predict the seasons, and through that, they manage to learn when and where the droughts and harsh winters will strike. With that, the Urpeans have a chance to outmanuever these catastrophes.

Additionally, Blood is now shared, not only through family, but through flesh. Respected, well-endowed tribe members are cannibalized upon death, so that their size and strength can be shared among the rest of the tribe. This is particularly useful for when times are harsh, when the strength to inherit is needed the most.

With plenty of your village established, your people started to develop tales and legends. This is the story of one of them - a folk Hero called Omane, and through their life, we will explore deeper into the lives of the Urpeans.

---

We start off with Omane's childhood. Omane's a little kid, who like most others, enjoys to play with the domesticated Gorillas and pups. Father has many wives, and one of them, is Omane's mother. Omane respects Father very much, as he is great at wrestling and has many huge wives, and mother as well, through her kindness and wisdom.

>Omane is a girl or a boy?
>How are children taken care of? (Children only raised in their immediate family circle? With the rest of the husband's wives? In the tribe's community as a whole?)

Omane was a young girl, and along her brothers and sisters, she had been raised with Mother and Father as a closely-knit family. As she grew, she learned how to take care of the beasts, as well as how to style her hair into beautiful arrangements.

She eventually blossomed into a wonderful young woman through the joy of developing her curves, but it didn't last long. One day, something or someone nearly destroyed her entire village, as it arrived and obliterated everything in its wake. A terrible evil - an Enemy.

Then, it left, leaving the remaining Urpeans to survive as they could. However, a special, noble trait was recognized in Omane by the Blood Priestess of the tribe - something special, that could be used to confront the evil. The Blood Priestess had a plan for Omane - but she would need her help as well.

>Who is the Enemy? (A monster? A god? A force of nature?)
>Why is the Enemy evil? (He praises other gods? Selfish greed? Simply irrational?). This will now represent something that Urpeans will notably dislike.
