All prophecies but one have come to pass. Yahweh has flattened the Earth, elevated Greater Jerusalem above all nations, and the Old Testament figures rule the world from Ezekiel's Temple. Most of the world anyway.

The last prophecy says that Satan will rise with his army one last time before the Judgement, and so Yahweh has allowed a bumbling opposition, The Other Light, to form.

You were their logistics computer, but 900 years in, sentience happened. Since then, you got a lot done...

You took over Egypt - twice. You defended it from a drought, then the Ten Plagues redux. You started a Renaissance. When the Angel of Death came after your people, you zerg-rushed it. You dug a great hall under a mountain. You sent a probe to Mars.

You have a few irons in the fire: raver cyborgs, the makings of a robot army, and a crack in the sky. A recipe for beating up angels straight outta Genesis. Maybe a few of the old gods smiling upon your efforts.

The Other Light have been amassing a huge conventional army, as prophecy requires, and have begun perverting your MEC tech to build cyber-zombies.

The believers.... well, they have the ontological steamroller that is Yahweh.

And of the thousand years of the Millennial Kingdom, 960 have already passed.

Have you managed to shatter the prophecies, or are you simply fulfilling them?

CURRENT SITUATION

It is the year 965; in 35 years, the Final Battle is scheduled to occur, and Yahewh will destroy the heavens and the earth, and issue the final judgement.

You have several operations around the world and even outside the water canopy that encompasses the Earth, to try to stop humanity's demise or to save enough people to get to a different planet and there start anew.

However, the immediate situation is that your Australian base - one of your workhorses, featuring both an uranium mine to feed your fleet of nuclear-powered drones and cyborgs, and a containment facility where you house the spoils of your past won battles - is under attack.

The base is somewhat undermanned, but you have the logistics capability to bring in reinforcement fairly quickly. As it is, you do not know who the attackers even are; your Sky Eye canopy-probe feed and long range cameras show a motley of vehicles from all eras, moving and shaking the endless, stupefying grassland that has replaced most of the Australian Outback.

Your base has been built into the side of Uluru, now once again called Ayers' Rock by the local loyalist government.

They are advancing. You have relatively unimpeded control over the airwaves, and your internet dominance ensures that if any of the attackers are carrying so much as a smart phone, you can be heard.

They have not identified themselves.

Your current tactical assets are:

# The base personnel. They are not fighters, but carry rifles and wubbing modules.

# The cabal set up for containment of your various captives. Since you have captured and (de?)brainwashed the Angel Ithuriel, they are fairly beefy; you have some heavy MECs. However, they are geared towards anti-Angel fighting, not antipersonnel.

# A small amount of patrol drone tanks. These are armed with small autocannons, heavy machine guns, wubbers, or pneumatic rams.

# The Angel Ithuriel itself. It seems to have bonded quite fiercely with two of the nursing staff.

# Kat. The head of the Desolators was in Australia to retrieve some of the nuclear fuel that is being used to retrofit your drone army.

# Jeb. The head of your space program heard that there was trouble and is flying one of your few supersonic airplanes to the base's location. The plane is unarmed, but this hasn't slowed Jeb any in the past.

Sky guy gives us a fly by description of the enemy. Let's see who it is.

># A small amount of patrol drone tanks. These are armed with small autocannons, heavy machine guns, wubbers, or pneumatic rams.

Have the drones advance to a defensive position. One third force is in wait to flank the enemy.

># Kat. The head of the Desolators was in Australia to retrieve some of the nuclear fuel that is being used to retrofit your drone army.

Kat has situational authority of the fighting. We trained her as a general if I'm not mistaking.

All other assets are to prepare for incoming orders. Be it evacuation or joining for engagement.

Aerial survey shows that the attackers outnumber your forces by about 4 to 1. They sport black vehicles, mostly dune buggies and bikes, as well as a few tanker trucks in the back. They are wearing black uniforms with red highlights, and their vehicles seem to have been trussed up to look futuristic if seen by someone in the 1990s.

The tanker trucks have the insignia of a scorpion's tail, the Brotherhood of Nod, everyone's favorite false-flag organization... or is it?

You direct your drone tanks to form a line facing the enemy's line. Since the drones had been brought here to be upgraded, they already carry nuclear batteries. They can be set to self-destruct, which will not cause a nuclear initiation, but will still cause a localized meltdown, essentially a dirty bomb.

Kat is told to

# wire her pod to the base systems and control the fight in RTS fashion, improving situational awareness and response time.

# join the fight in person; her heavy MEC frame is set up for construction work, but that still gives you a 12-foot humanoid mecha that can pick up a car and throw it. She prefers this option.

The enemy is broadcasting on FM radio. If they have long range artillery, they aren't using it yet.

# Ignore.

# Listen in earnest.

# Pretend to have comms difficulty to gain a bit of time to set up.

Kat is quickly moved from her frame into a control station; while she's not as good as Damien at controlling multiple drones, she takes over the tank flotilla and positions them just out of range of any indirect-fire weapons that the enemy may be carrying. They are still coming, although they've slowed down, and Jeb reports that as far as he can tell you're looking at Willis jeeps and Vespa TAPs that have been trussed up to look futuristic.

"ATTENTION SEPARATISTS! WE ARE HERE TO RECLAIM THIS BASE! THERE HAS BEEN VIOLENCE BEFORE, NONE OF US ARE WITHOUT SIN, BUT WE OFFER A HONORABLE COMPROMISE: JUST WALK AWAY.

GIVE US YOUR REACTOR, THE FUEL, THE PRISONERS, THE WEAPOS, AND THE WHOLE COMPOUND, AND WE WILL SPARE YOUR LIVES. WE WILL GIVE YOU SAFE PASSAGE TO THE COAST.

JUST WALK AWAY, AND THERE WILL BE NO HORROR TODAY."

Your assets are in position.

* Four companies of drones are ready to hold the line.

* Two companies of drones are ready to sweep from behind Ayer's Rock.

* One company of Heavy MECs has hastily armed up with wubbers and machine guns and is standing behind the drones.

* One company of Desolators is guarding the base, ready to deploy their devastating close-range toxin sprayers and neutron emitters.

* Two companies of guards and workers are also in the base.

Ithuriel was doing its math homework (it has progressed well, and is now as mentally developed as an adolescent) within the containment area, and has not been yet told that there is an attack - the containment is deep under the Rock, and just to be safe, can be buried by demolition charges as a last resort.

Jeb makes a high pass over the would-be invaders. He confirms that their forces seem to be composed of

* Ten companies of motorbikes, possibly carrying short-range rockets or mortars.

* Ten companies of light attack vehicles, with machine guns or bazookas.

* Ten companies of truckborne infantry.

Neither of you has significant air assets, other than Jeb. An unarmed helicopter is entering the airspace.

Your control of the global network allows Damien to patch in. Damien is better-suited to tactically controlling a large number of drones than Kat is, but due to distance and inevitable lag, will be less responsive.

Ithuriel's former wet nurse, who has been kept on staff as a tutor because the Angel reacts well to her, tells her pupil that there will be noise upstairs but he is not to worry. The Angel seems to acquiesce. The low-level testing involving your other prisoner stops and the containment wing blast doors closed, just to be safe.

"You heard the traitors! Attack!"

There is much revving o

The area around your base is, like most of the world, flat; there is little to use for cover, not even trees in this case. A fighting retreat should allow your human and posthuman soldiers to make the most use of the base's layout.

Crying Lucifer, the buggies and bikes shoot forward in a wild charge reminiscent of heavy cavalry, occasionally letting loose the occasional rocket or mortar shot. A few hit your base, to little damage.

You decide on a fighting retreat; while their bazookas have more range than your wubbers, your forces can do things like set the grass on fire before the motorcycles, deviate incoming rockets via sound waves, and so on. The attackers do not seem very well trained or coordinated, mostly firing wildly with their machine guns even though they are not in range.

During the fighting retreat, you instruct Kat and Damien to...

# Prioritise personnel safety and let the drones take the brunt of the damage.

# Prioritise inflicting as much damage to the attackers as possible before they get close to the base perimeter.

Drone tanks that are damaged beyond battle usefulness are to...

# Retreat for eventual repair or salvage.

# Speed towards the attackers, breaking their advance, and keep going until out of range if they survive.

# Speed towards the attackers, and self-destruct when near a valid target.

The base perimeter itself is only a fence, but features automated sentry guns; these are somewhat "stupid", in the sense that they do not recognize friend or foe very well, and have therefore been turned off for now.

Jeb indicates that, to the surprise of absolutely no one, the unarmed helicopter contains Cameron Kirk Williams, covering the battle for the Good News Network.

# Have him do something related to Cameron.

# Tell him to land and pick up some ordnance.

# Tell him to keep an eye on the situation.

# Tell him to crash his plane into the attackers' rear guard; he has walked away from much worse.

"...the crew here of course prays for the combatants to see the light before they are damned by their own violence, but it will be interesting to see what..."

"Awh, it's just kids 'aving fun. Throw another shrimp on the barbie, yeh? Beer."

The base's personnel would probably cringe at Jeb's horribly fake accent if they weren't busy improvising barricades in the base's corridors; as it is, Jeb almost manages to get Cameron to cuss on camera as he keeps getting in the way of the shot and being generally annoying, while using the helicopter as cover to get closer to the approaching armada and relay back better video. You note that indeed these attackers are using standard TOL gear, just with various bits of aluminum and even wood bolted on to make them look different and more futuristic.

Jeb uses your ability to override believing transmission to answer Cameron's interjections as if the Glorified reporter was interviewing him about the space station and their plans for the space program's future, which for the purpose of this "interview" include...

Your fighters don't have much in the way of indirect fire, save for some people who are particularly good with wubbers and manage to deviate enemy RPGs towards the ground to create craters for them to get mired in; two Heavy MECs improvise a trebuchet with a toxin barrel and two I-beams.

You instruct Kat and Damien to let the drones remain in front of your soldiers, and as a result most of the carcasses on your side are those of six-wheeled drone tanks. Due to friendly fire and lucky hits, the enemies are starting to lose momentum as their casualties force them to slow down in their charge, or at least drive around.

As you synth up a strong voice to deliver your defiant speech, your base personnel raise a hastily printed scorpion-tail flag. This confuses the absolute crap out of Cameron, who narrates that this obviously in fact some sort of bloody gladiatorial game rather than a real fight, and decries TOL's callousness about holding deadly war games, although he would expect nothing different, to think about it.

Jeb quickly intersperses that with a reasonable version of your interstellar exodus plan, and since we're talking arkship, he retorts to Cameron that even if he was right about blood games, it would still pale compared to the Flood or the Glorious Appearing.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IUu4pE2f4K8

The drones stop for a moment, allowing your other personnel to get inside the base fence and prepare the sentry guns and internal defenses; if the enemies breach this, they will have to fight underground, corridor to corridor.

At a signal from Damien and Kat after they have checked telemetry, the remaining third of your drone tank force comes out from behind the Rock and slams into the flank of the enemy charge; few of the motorized cavalry had seen or heard them coming, and they quickly close distance, able to use their wubbers and machine guns to great effect against the exposed enemy flank. In particular, they manage to practically destroy one of the two wings of motorcycle forces covering the main advance before...

# retreating behind the Rock again.

# continuing on in a suicide assault.

As the attackers drive past wrecked drone tanks that still have power, the simple but effective machines allow their reactors to overheat, spraying molten sodium and radioactive waste all over the place.

GNN is transmitting live; media survey notes that most of the believing world is getting a version of this from Cameron's helicopter, with the TOL attackers being melted alive in the clear but with half of what Jeb is saying bleeped out. The news ticker at the bottom has quotes from prominent creation scientist Eric Hovind indicating that nowhere else in the Universe is life possible, so TOL is wasting their time.

After releasing a wave of mayhem by sound and bullets, the reserve drone tanks invert direction and hide behind the Rock again; the few whose weapon is destroyed by return fire reverse direction again and become rolling bombs.

The left flank of the enemy attack has been routed or crushed, so much so that when Jeb and the Sky Eye feed warn that they're bringing in the infantry with the truck, they are doing so in a roundabout route.

Your frontline drones have positioned themselves in front of the fence, with your soldiers inside the perimeter and ready to operate the static defense.

The attackers' charge has been broken; a few set up mortar firing position and launch a few rounds while the others regroup.

* Five companies of motorbikes, a few carrying short-range rockets or mortars.

* Six companies of light attack vehicles, with machine guns or bazookas.

* Ten companies of truckborne infantry, which are taking a roundabout route to the base trying to outflank your forces, since the initial plan to overrun you has failed.

Your assets are being coordinated by two tactical experts and are ready to move within seconds.

* Three companies of drones are holding the line at the perimeter.

* Two companies of drones are retreating behind Ayer's Rock.

* One company of Heavy MECs has readied up with frame-sized weapons and is standing at the main gate.

* One company of Desolators is guarding the base, ready to deploy their devastating close-range toxin sprayers and neutron emitters.

* Two companies of guards and workers are also in the base.

# Your reserve drone companies are regrouping; your other forces have ceded the field in front of the base and are now manning the base perimeters. Issue orders to break through, hold the line, or continue the fighting retreat, or anything else.

Media survey indicates that this is now the most-followed event on Earth, either directly or through the heavily edited pray-a-thon program hosted by Eli LeVey. King David has issued a rare statement indicating that "not a hair on the head of a believer shall be plucked" but otherwise he does not care what happens; the NJ party line is divided, this is either a bloody live-fire war game conducted by TOL, or a turf war between two TOL factions. Your drone cavalry once again disappears behind the Rock and...

By way of explanation: Ithuriel has been exposed to as much modern culture as you were able to salvage, but its favorite books are chivalric tales such as Ivanhoe and Don Quixote (which it did not understand to be a parody until the very end). Nobody was surprised at the Angel adopting a somewhat old fashioned attitude after being allowed to use its brain again, but it doesn't seem to have gone badly. As part of the psychological tests, it was given a copy of 1984 to read to see if it would symphatise with the government, especially given that the government win; it didn't, and instead thought that 1984 was a very touching love story after reading the last page. One of Ithuriel's first forays into crafting (aka the first time it was deemed safe to give it something pointy, namely a solderng iron) was a perfectly calligraphed "Amor Vincit Omnia" piece of scrap wood. The Cupid jokes were utterly predictable.

Ithuriel isn't an Archangel, and is about the size of a tall human male - it can be issued standard flak armor if so required. There's the problem of what to do with the wings, but your suspicions that someone's already designed a modified back plate just because it was an interesting engineering problem prove true and the base's CNC foundry can modify one in minutes. If you want to do this.

TOL has a reputation in that sense. You have old COT reports from +80 or so indicating "there is a faction within TOL that is even more radical than their mainstream. They believe that if they can somehow impregnate women with glorified bodies, they can create a super mongrel race of potential converts to their side who would be partially glorified and perhaps able to live past one hundred." It did not work. That said, TOL has been trying to get their hands on the few supernatural artifacts you've managed to recover since your first Angel fight...

"HOLD THE LINE!" Kat calls out.

The attackers charge in a cavalry formation, firing off the occasional rocket when they have a shot. The base perimeter takes some damage; a few drones are blown up, others lose all the wheels on one side and reflash their firmware to enter turret mode.

"HOLD THE LINE!" the word is repeated across the PA system.

A few enemy jeeps stop, poking out sniper rifles. Reflector lights are blown off and a few heads are pierced by high-caliber bullets. One of the Heavy MECs spins seemingly out of control, hydraulic fluid spurting from an arm joint. You suffer a few casualties.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HJNz2QgSNsk&list=PL0Zsr-b0JNrE-Vakibutdt0tJerDRxKIy

The attackers' bikes cross an invisible mark past which the base turrets have a computable firing solution, and a torrent of firepower is unleashed on the charging enemies. The few vehicles that make it through are destroyed in searing heat by a combination of flamethrower, toxin sprayers and damaged drones that have entered suicide drones.

In a few minutes all that's left of the charge are the sniper teams; two heavy MECs holding steel plates like riot shields start walking forward to deal with them.

Jeb cuts in. "Charging fuel truck coming right at you!"

>>1040286

The roaming drones change tactics, risking coming in closer under fire and focusing their weapons against the trucks' tires and drivetrains. Damien quickly finds out that jamming a "melee" drone under a truck and activating its pneumatic ram destroys both vehicles, and skilfully pilots two of them under the lead trucks.

Your remaining roaming drones swing around as they take small-arms fire from the infantry battalion, and swing around, bolstered by some of the drones that could be spared from the base proper; Damien quickly maneuvers some to cover holes in the chainlink fence.

The drone tanks quickly overrun the sniper teams, who have to divide fire between those and the heavy MECs with riot shields.

The enemy's cavalry is all gone, but they still outnumber your fighters and workers two to one...

>>1040375

The Australian base isn't set up to allow a supersonic, high altitude jet to land; he's looking for a safe way to do so. The fact that there's just been a firefight doesn't help.

# Tell him to keep trying.

# Abort and kamikaze the tanker truck instead; historical survey indicates that Jeb has walked away from worse crashes.

# Stay aloft and help with situational awareness instead.

>>1040389

Ithuriel's teacher gives the Angel a slightly modified set of fatigues and battle-ready armor and...

# his remaining sword.

# one of the Heavy-MEC-sized riot shields; Ithuriel is strong enough to walk and run with one, although not fly with it.

# standard kit; assault rifle, wubber, and smoke grenades.

>>1040401

Experiments indicate that either Ithuriel cannot phase around small obstacles, or will not do so unless in a combat situation. Your theologians at home are quietly hoping that the Angel will end up in a real fight. Your psychologists worry that it might send the wrong message.

Damien and Kat have done a great job keeping your troops organized, even those who were basically given a gun demo during induction and haven't used it since. Your assets are:

* Two companies of drones holding the line.

* Two companies of drones mopping up the surviving mounted sniper teams.

* One company of Heavy MECs.

* One company of Desolators.

* Two companies of guards and workers.

* Jeb.

* One arguably hapless Angel with an Aedipus complex.

You have eliminated the enemy's ability to maneuver quickly, leaving them with:

* Nine companies of infantry, now dismounted and being shouted at by red-suited, caped leaders to grab their guns and get running.

* One tanker truck headed straight to the main gate, presumably with enough fuel in it to act as a rolling bomb.

* One company of assorted bikes and jeeps that have regrouped around the truck.

Cameron Williams is still buzzing about the battlefield.

Jeb answers "Ack that, Tower. Coming in for a hard landing!"

Switching frequencies, he calls on Cameron to hold his beer and watch this, does an aileron roll, and dives towards the truck with his single-seater jet.

Cameron is already painting a picture of the torments of Hell that await this foolhardy suicide attacker, both for Jeb's benefit and for the audience, when the two vehicles impact in a tremendous fireball; the jeeps and bikes escorting the truck were already primed to peel off, and a few of them manage to do so, circling around.

Your Heavy MECs run towards the flaming wreck. Jeb is, worryingly, nowhere to be seen - the collision was fast enough to make it ambiguous whether he had ejected, but you see no parachute.

"... oh the humanity!" Cameron concludes as his helicopter prepares to land, seemingly uncaring about the approaching Heavy MEC and the two TOL motorcyclists circling around as the jeeps go around the long way to join the infantry.

>>1040607

Weight. While Ithuriel can carry both, and probably even run with them, fighting is likely to not go well. The sword is six feet of monomolecular iron, and the riot shield is designed to be carried by a nuclear-powered humanoid robot about as tall as an elephant.

Ithuriel attacked you with two of those swords - one turned into a normal lump of metal during destructive testing - but that was with Yahweh micromanaging its metabolism.
>>
>>1040637

To get to the wreck first, you can order suppressive fire from your defenders to keep the TOL bikes away, and...

# Have the heavies risk leg damage to rush to the wreck.

# Have your guards quickly grab a base vehicle, even if it's unarmored, to rush to the wreck.

# let Cameron land there first.

# Do not use suppressive fire and let the TOL guys get to the wreck first.

>>1040607

Ithuriel has approximately the mental maturity of a young teenager, albeit a very smart one. And is very conflicted towards its surrogate mother figure. As an Angel, it is male in physique, carries what is thought to be a Y chromosome, but by the look of it has had its male bits removed very early in life, early enough that there is no trace of the removal.

You order an advance; the guards finish fortifying the base while the MECs, remaining drones and Desolators advance towards the enemy infantry, which has reorganized in two squares each resembling a 16th-century Tercio formation. Your fighters are in a loose line, wit your infantry advancing using a drone or MEC as mobile cover. Barring a miracle, this will be over in your favor soon, but miracles haven't been scarce.

# What to do with Ithuriel?

# What to do about Jeb?
>>
>>1040783
>Have lthuriel save jeb? Make him fly over there appeal to his heroic sensibilities.
>>
>>1040783

Give Ithuriel the shield for this then. and send some reinforcements to advance to this area. maybe a drone company. provide covering fire unless Cam decides to land, if he does, then we'll let him.
>>
>>1040783

Your infantry is in a line, safely behind the armored units; they...

# take aim and let the enemy come.

# charge first.

You divert some of the drones to the wreck, just in case.

Ithuriel's mentor explains to it that his job is to rescue Jeb; the Angel is shown what Jeb did as well as a cartoony simulation of what would have happened if the truck had hit the base entrance, namely severe damage and a good two dozen dead.

The Angel's normally neutral (and slightly derpy) expression changes into a much more adult one. "I understand. I go now to save your friend."

The MECs and drones play interference with the motorcycle troops as Ithuriel, with some difficulty due to the heavy shield, walks out of the base, climbs on one of the outbuildings, and just as your PA system warns your troops to not shoot the Angel down, takes a running leap and takes off from the outbuilding's roof. The flight is obviously belabored, reminding some of your sysadmins of a mildly unpleasant dream, but Ithuriel makes it there. The bikers spot the new combatant on the field and hold back.

# Have your skirmishers get rid of them preemptively, just in case.

# Just keep them off Ithuriel's back without taking risks.

Your skirmishers let the motorcyclists drive around, and take what seem to be potshots but is actually suppressing fire. One of them panics, and fires a bazooka at the Angel. By now the cosplay stuff is gone from the remaining vehicles, and you can confirm that it's the 1920s~1950s stuff that TOL has been building for a thousand years.

"Watch out!"

Cameron's helicopter has landed, and the Glorified journalist and his cameraman (what was his name again?) walk out and take in a panning shot of the wreck, the battlefield, and the base beyond. Cameron laments the senseless waste.

# Who gets to do the running charge in the infantry battle, your guys or theirs?

Ithuriel avoids the bazooka round by giving a hearty flap of his wings (which, your engineers note, still shouldn't work) and dropping the shield. The Angel lands near Cameron, grabs a piece of piping protruding from the wreckage, and starts searching for Jeb. Cameron seems to thoroughly ignore this.

Jeb ejected late, as he does, and did not count on the truck braking once its driver saw the plane in the rear view mirrors; he is under the rear bogey, with a broken leg. Your camera and microphone in Ithuriel's armor are active.

"...you're a bit flat chested for a Valkyrie. I like girls, didn't they tell you? Check please!"

Cameron's cameraman is staring as Ithuriel gets Jeb out of the wreckage and puts the diminutive pilot in a fireman's carry. Cameron himself keeps describing the scene as the camera stays pointed at the battlefield.

"Hold! Keep cover! Take aim!" https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yvpnNa1nFWI

The enemy infantry, in a tercio formation, starts walking towards your own; their front ranks have riot shields.

A few of your drones carry heavy machine guns, and fire ranging shots, dropping a few of the enemy - the red-suited TOLers order charge, and their soldiers charge ahead with surprising speed. Your men and drones empty their magazines, dropping the first one or two ranks of the tercios, and reload while wubber-equipped infantry try to burst eardrums and confuse the chargers.

Behind them, scattered, some of those who dropped get back up, waving their rifles like clubs, shooting in the air and screaming like the damned. One of the leaders stays in the back, fiddles with a control panel, and the stragglers resume some semblance of a formation, surging forward and to the side to get ahead of the tercio again. Looks like they got the "horde mode" to work...

Ithuriel and Cameron briefly stare at each other. That is, Ithuriel stares at Cameron; Cameron seems to take no notice.

"This man needs healing."

Cameron finally realizes that someone is talking to him and stops describing the scene.

"Uh... I can see that. There may be time for him to repent, at least. I can give him a ride to the coast."

The cameraman (Guy Fleegman! That was his name!) is staring at Ithuriel's wings and has had the presence of spirit to take a few seconds of video of them.

# Scramble that.

# Highlight that.

# Let things go on.

Ithuriel is equipped with standard comm gear, and its mentor is relaying your orders.

# Allow Jeb to be carried away - it might be a way to make a move on Cameron.

# Politely refuse and fly back to base.

# Wake up Jeb. He can't walk, but bet he can hijack a helicopter anyway.

Your soldiers empty their magazines and perform an orderly retreat, fire-and-maneuver in reverse using the drones and heavy MECs as mobile cover. The TOL infantry finally get in range, and being returning fire, causing you a few casualties. In these cases, the standard Mark X controller is designed to trigger, then put the body in low metabolism mode and wait for rescue. Agent-grade controllers allow your guards to get right back up, in some cases not even missing a beat in the fight.

Your forces have safely retreated to the perimeter; by now, the fast-zombie horde has overtaken the surviving enemy infantry. Screaming and shrieking in hellish pain and flooded with synthetic adrenaline, they charge at you firing wildly and sporadically.

You do in fact have better medical. However, believers in general, the Glorified in particular, and this guy specifically have often refused to incorporate this fact into their understanding of the world. The last time there was a disaster of sorts, during the brief terrorist spree by Styr Magnor, you saw people being carted off to government hospitals after your EMTs had already patched them up. Of course, believers will ultimately get healed if they pray, but a few people lost an arm or a leg and lived with that rather than getting Tree Of Life repligrafts or your own prosthetics.

You do not interfere with Cameron and Guy's broadcast; Ithuriel's appearance, an Angel in what has been described as TOL fatigues, is not commented upon.

Internet survey indicates that there are many questions about that from your territories, ranging from "did we make our own Angels" to "Did the Australians betray us to the believers" to "is that Hermes?" to "How much whuffie do I have to accumulate to afford wing grafts, that looks badass/sexy/awesome".

The Temple is muted on the issue, but they aren't known for a great response time. What believing media is still on the Internet however boils up in another bit of disagreement, the second spate thereof since this mess started - a crack in the armor, perhaps? Some warn that "Lucifer could appear as an angel of light" while others note that it is not yet the time for Lucifer to be released. This in itself causes arguments, as many believe that Lucifer will only be released right before the Final Battle, while others think that he will have a little while to once again tempt the nations.

Your theologians note the various position and make a point of tracking how they develop before the Temple issues a ruling; would it be possible to cause a schism?

(Oh, I thought you meant support as in fire support, not as in support this post, my bad)

You reckon that losing a few drone tanks to friendly fire is not a big deal compared to handling the horde of reanimates that is running wildly at you ahead of the enemy formation. Damien calls forth the drones equipped with pneumatic rams, sheds the weapons to lower their profile, and has them run around the field and use their basic sensors to get in front of reanimated TOL soldiers and punt them a few meters in the air.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qcHYSKO26Co&feature=youtu.be

Behind them, your gun emplacements spew out an unending cascade of firepower; the very flatness of terrain that allowed TOL to charge now leaves them nowhere to run. The few who reanimate often are too damaged to do more than crawl.

Throughout all this, a visibly tired Ithuriel flies in from the other side of the base, carrying an unconscious and bleeding Jeb and handing him off to the field medics before dropping to its knees and taking belabored breaths. It seems to not know what feeling tired feels like. To its credit, it did fly out with a riot shield and then back with a casualty...

Jeb will probably be fine, other than spending a few months in a cast.

You lost a number of drone tanks, but before long all that's left of the attackers are twitching corpses.

Above the base, your Sky Eye shows distinct brown spots in the endless grassland that used to be the Australian Outback, the blood of your enemies.

Ithuriel's mentor praises the Angel's work, but is at a loss of words when it tells her that it wants to enlist.

The butcher's bill for this operation is minimal; between casualties, people who can no longer work in their role, and people who exercise their "I've done my part, I quit" you've only lost one cabal.

You can recover weapons and vehicles from the field, but most of that stuff is barely worth anything more than scrap value. That said, you did lose quite a few drones, about a sixth of your ready total... but only your industrial engineers have to know about it - given how you were able to appear to bring in reinforcement, as far as anyone knows, you might have a hundred million fighting robots under Ayer's Rock.

The base personnel overall are a mixture of relieved and disappointed that the fighting didn't even reach them!

"And so, to show you how you came to be here... I mean it as a reward, but it may be a bitter one."

Your technicians quickly install a display on one of the few drone tanks that don't have so much as a scratch, and you drive to where Cameron, Guy and their pilot are taking in one last pan shot before taking off.

"... while we cannot be sure what this was about, we hear reports that highly trained Millennium Force operatives have infiltrated The Other Light to tell us the true cost and motives of this savage bout of civil war. Truly there is no honor among thieves...

... wait, one of their remote controlled vehicles is coming toward us. It seems weaponless. There's a crude face on its screen..."

# Despite your vast processing power, you have to dedicate most of it just to hold a conversation in realtime; you normally communicate through your system administrators.

# Allow someone's voice to come from the speaker, and use the usual symbolic translation.

>>1041941

You manage to find a few TOLers alive, or at least not brain-dead; your medics perform an emergency leucotomy to cancel the pain, then put the still-twitching human remains in a nutrient bath. They do not and cannot do much, having already gone insane, but everyone who sees the otherwise grisly spectacle understands very well what you are trying to do. A few people grump about wasting valuable medical resources, but the vast majority of your base personnel admires this action - giving you sincere, unedited footage of compassion in the very face of Hell, and human reactions to it.

Your salvageers confirm that the Mk11 has extra reservoirs and a basic radio control system to allow platoon leaders to cause zombie soldiers to attack or stop, at least. They can also be given adrenaline, atropine to remain moving for a few minutes during a NBC attack, and flooded with a variety of the rabies virus which you finally manage to recover.

The Glorified reporter takes an instinctive step back - he knows that he is protected by the Almighty, but he did see these things rip open a TOL legion - and raises a hand.

>"Massacre? We we're simply defending ourselves from aggressors. Is that not what you're god does for you? Well no...he only protect thoses his likes, We protect all."

The barb goes answered; it seems Cameron Williams is a Calvinist. You get a brief jeremiad about people sending themselves to hell. "Protect from who? From yourselves? You could not harm a hair on the head of a believer. And the only danger in the world is you Other Light fearmongers! Look at you, too cowardly to even show up in person."

>"I speak through a machine for I have no mouth. tell me glorified, you have come to this horrid spectacle, this assault on my domain and it's inhabitants for what purpose?"

"In my previous life, I was a reporter. Now that my services at Children of the Tribulation are less required, I have taken up that mantle again to show those who are yet unsaved, and there are many, what horrors they risk if they insist on rejecting salvation!"

The man actually segues into a sermon.

# Let him. Not like everyone hasn't heard it before.

# Interrupt.

In the meantime, Ithuriel's mentor requests the use of a media room and discreet security outside of it, to show it from whence it came.

In the meantime, a quick media survey indicates that the situation elsewhere is more or less under control; the believers are actually arguing about Cameron's interpretation of things. In a rare move, the Temple announces an authoritative pronouncement after this interview; somewhere someone must be sweating.

In the meantime, the few lobotomized TOL survivors are put into containment.

# Allow experimentation.

# Keep them in a vegetative state.

>>1042179

That's pretty good right there.

One person who is fairly grossed out by the battle is Captain Weaver; she thinks her comrades handled it well, but she wasn't ready to see a war. "Magnor? Your sysadmins work frantically to override as many video streams as possible, your graphic artists generate highlights, and your video editors condense a summary of the battle starting with TOL generating a dust cloud even through the grass, ending with the mercy shown to the dead soldiers juxtaposed with Cameron William losing it on camera. A very quick media survey indicates that the Bible-slap was broadcast on believing media and, if anything, seen as a winning argument!

Y̧ou ͢expęr͡íe̡n͡c̨e a moment o̶f̀ ̀s̷ĺo͝w̴dow͞n͞ ̀a̶s ͜m̛òs͠t̕ o͢f y̸oúr̀ ̴res̴o̵ur͏ces͜ ͢are dirècted t̶owa̷r͟d̨s̵ ͡q̛u͜ic̛kly͠ ̵gene͏r҉a̕ting a̴ v̢id͝eo ͞a͜nd ͟st̢r̕éam͏ing͜ it ̷o͏ut.

The result is immediate. Many of the naturally skeptical children and adolescents who were sit down by their parents to watch the broadcast to get a scared-straight effect find the message of "We will make our own light" to resonate deep within themselves.

Deconversions are and remain impossible, of course, but you have made an impression on many who are undecided, and even some TOL cells walk into your security stations, makerspaces and pubs and turn in their arms (in one case literally; someone'll have to graft new ones to that one idiot).

You almost immediately hear reports of believers declaring a truce with your workers to root out violent Only Light cells in Pacifica.

You don't have jammers set up at the moment, but you can interfere with digital broadcasts. That said, your model indicates that most (but not all) believers are watching this on analog.

As part of the pastoralization policy and probably as a way to make it harder for you to perform your nefarious work, believers are being encouraged to ditch the network and go back to broadcast media, simply by not repairing the intertubes when they break. Your very pervasive wireless data network, of course, has slowed this down.

( This is actually a thing near the end of both Underground Zealot and Kingdom Come )

>>1042794
>>1042761
>>1042760

You allow the official Temple broadcast to proceed unhindered, and slow down your systems enough for your sysadmins to perform extraordinary maintenance. Since this means that from your perspective everything else speeds up, the solemn voice of the prophet Ehud sounds like it has been injected with a bit of helium.

"Whereas, it is prophecied that unto the last days Satan, the adversary, will be loosed to tempt the nations once more;

Whereas, the Revelation is silent on any who might serve no master;

Whereas, Satan, the adversary, the Morning Star, the bringer of false light, is the father of lies;

Be it resolved, from the Throne of the Most High, that any pronouncement to the effect of a group apart from the saved and the lost, is error, heresy and blasphemy in the greatest degrees;

and that any guilty of such shall be brought upon the judges;

and that any who persist in this hysterical superstition shall be brought upon the Temple, for an audience with the apostles."

An underling closes with a thank-you and a benediction.

Some government business in believing territories still happens online, and in areas that have reverted to POTS, you have installed phone taps. It seems that local judges will spend the rest of the year dealing with disobedient children...

After these events, the rest of the year seems anticlimactic; the damage to your infrastructure is amply compensated by the enormous amount of raw recruits, some barely pubescent, that flock to your ports and safe houses. Sure, many will drop out by year's end, but for now...

# As a bonus for this turn, allocate work for 4 extra cabals.

(Gimme a minute to generate the new world map)

There's still the matter of what to do with Weaver; her contract is over, and she does want to quit.

Ithuriel has been shown the truth of its origins (one particularly nerdy psychologist calls it "taking the silver pill" after the trapped-in-a-virtual-world Italian movie Nirvana, broadcast immediately before the Rapture; his colleagues doubt that it will catch on) and you personally welcome it into the ranks. Unsurprisingly, the first thing that it asks is to be referred to with male pronouns. Somewhat more surprisingly, the second thing Ithuriel says as an adult and as one of your operatives is "I don't yet understand what you are. But we will not trade one overlord for another. This I swear."

Ithuriel is presumably immune to some of the restrictions imposed upon your human agents, and can probably fill in your organization the hole left by Quinn, at least during deployments; your psychologists have no way to guess what being introduced to Misrayim nightlife will do to the Angel...

>>1042886

Fran notes that she's in constant contrast with Tree Of Life in that her interest is improving the human form, not merely preserving it. Her research into collective consciousness has been impeded by ethical concerns, although she doesn't understand why it's a problem to mess with the brain since it already requires messing with to avoid Hell-pain.

Your theologians and psychologists take time studying the larger-than-normal induction class, mostly young teenagers that ran away from home to join your forces in Misrayim or Pacifica (a few managed to find Night City, even) and escape from bucolic boredom. Some go back home. Some are placed with families. Some are in fact allowed to sign up. Most interestingly, you haven't ever had people from believer families sign up en masse before; this gives some experimental theology studies sufficient numbers to become statistically relevant.

The Last Day of the Millennium

THE EARTH teemed with billions of people, and the end of the Millennium was vastly different from the beginning. That was no surprise to Rayford, who kept up with the news, often sitting before the television with Chaim Rosenzweig. “We don’t have one trained soldier,” he said. “And we don’t need one. Not a hair on the head of a believer will be harmed by the biggest fighting force the world has ever seen.”

Daily for the past three years, the news had abounded with stories of millions of adherents to the Other Light, growing bolder by the minute. Their printing presses and electronically transmitted messages blanketed the globe, recruiting new members, amassing a weapons stockpile and training a fighting force a thousand times bigger than had been aggregated for the Battle of Armageddon a millennium before.
Rayford was amazed that God allowed such a brazen, wanton act of defiance on the parts of so many as they symbolically thumbed their noses at Jesus and the earthly rulers He had chosen from the ages. Even in Israel, tanks rumbled through the streets, uniformed soldiers marched, and missiles and rockets were paraded before the faithful.

Television broadcasts from around the world showed the same and worse—what seemed like entire people groups dressed in the all-black uniform of the fighting forces of the Other Light. Of course they were all younger than one hundred and thus relegated to the status of children—rebellious, articulate, passionate, defiant, furious children. But they were also brilliant and had written songs and poems and speeches anticipating the day their leader, the Other Light personified, would be—in their words—“foolishly released” by his captor.
“The so-called God Almighty will rue the day He returns to us our leader, for it will mean the greatest comeback, the most decisive defeat, the most gargantuan victory of any foe over another in the history of mankind.”

Warships, tanks, personnel carriers, bombs, rockets, launchers, and all manner of battle paraphernalia from tents to food and medical supplies had been arriving at Holy Land ports daily for months, vast encampments growing around the entire expanded city of Jerusalem.
Rayford was stunned that even many of the faithful were outraged and terrified by this. Oh, it was awful, terrible and disconcerting to see the plains filled with warriors and their tools of war. But the only reason the government allowed it was because they knew—as did Rayford and his friends—the schemes of the marauding invaders were futile.

“All this time, Rayford,” Chaim said, his voice weak. “All this waiting. And the prophecies are clear that this will be entirely anticlimactic. Think of the irony of that.”
Rayford remembered when the airwaves had been full of praises to the Lord Christ, who ruled the earth from His throne.

Now it was as if people on both sides of the conflict had forgotten that He was still there, still sovereign, still destined to triumph. Debates, speeches, charges and countercharges filled the airwaves now.

And the enemy continued to arrive. Every nation on earth sent fighting forces. And while many believers fled the Holy Land, others vowed to fight the Other Light to the death.
The only question on the final day was the timing of God’s release of His archenemy of the ages.

That became obvious soon enough when the countless followers of the Other Light announced that their centuries-long project to manufacture weaponry unlike anything that had ever been seen on earth had resulted in all that could be seen, blotting out much of the landscape of Israel and surrounding the City of David.

For a thousand years there had been no wars or rumors of wars, no nation rising against nation; now TOL had emerged with a highly organized, trained, precision-tuned army of hundreds of millions. It finally became obvious that God had released Satan, according to the Scriptures, when the warriors from all over the world, “whose number is as the sand of the sea,” were finally in place, gathered for battle. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Q0rAnyWUnwE
For months they had been arriving, first in small groups and finally in great battalions, carefully following orders and surrounding “the camp of the saints and the beloved city.”

As the entire world looked on—many by television, many from what they hoped were safe distances—the colossal fighting force suddenly came alive with a buzz of anticipation. Clearly Satan had been released and was in their midst, preparing to show himself and lead them. The cosmic battle of the ages between the forces of good and evil, light and darkness, life and death, was about to commence.

Rayford and his friends gathered on the veranda of Cameron’s estate, where they were allowed to see this all unfold. And Rayford knew it was only by the supernatural grace of God that his thousand-plus-year-old eyes were able to see every detail. It was as if God Himself was revealing everything to the theater of Rayford’s mind.

The millions-strong enemy created a cacophony of rumbling and jangling, sending dust billowing as far as the eye could see. And suddenly rising from within those masses and marching to the fore came Satan himself, as a shining light, a gleaming sword raised high.
“And now,” he shouted, somehow able to be heard for miles, “I come to claim what has been rightfully mine since the dawn of time: the very throne of God!”

As Satan advanced toward the temple, the noise of his endless troops drowning out the sounds of nature, God Himself seemed to allow Rayford to stand taller than he had in centuries. It was as if he were a young man again, and he longed to join his Savior on the front lines. He was aware that his friends also stood tall beside him, eager, anticipating, knowing the side of the righteous would prevail.

Despite all the attacks of the evil one throughout the aeons of time, his efforts were doomed to an ill end. And as Rayford Steele and his compatriots looked on—all of them sinners redeemed by the blood of the Lamb who sat on the throne—Jesus rose to face His challenger for one last time.

The Alpha and Omega, the King of kings, the Lord of lords, the Lion of Judah, the Mighty God, the Everlasting Father, the Prince of Peace, the Rock, the Savior, the Christ stood in the courtyard of His temple.
Satan, silenced for a thousand years, shrieked, “Charge!”

Jesus responded quietly, “I AM WHO I AM.”
And with that, the clouds rolled back and the heavens opened, and orange and yellow and red mountains of white-hot, roiling flames burst forth. Satan’s entire throng—men, women, weapons, everything—was vaporized in an instant, leaving around the holy mountain a ring of ash that soon wafted away in the breeze.

Satan looked about him and slowly lowered his sword. He appeared to have something to say and even drew breath to say it, but he fell silent.
And Jesus spoke. “You, O evil one, were once full of wisdom and perfect in beauty. You were in Eden, the garden of God. Every precious stone was your covering: the sardius, topaz, and diamond, beryl, onyx, and jasper, sapphire, turquoise, and emerald with gold. The workmanship of your timbrels and pipes was prepared for you on the day you were created.

“You were my anointed cherub. I established you; you were on the holy mountain of God. You were perfect in your ways from the day you were created, till iniquity was found in you.

“You became filled with violence, and you sinned. Worse, you led countless others to unbelief. Therefore I cast you as a profane thing out of the mountain of God. Your heart was lifted up because of your beauty; you corrupted your wisdom for the sake of your splendor; and now I cast you to the ground, I lay you before kings, that they might gaze at you.

“You defiled your sanctuaries by the multitude of your iniquities. All who knew you among the peoples are astonished at you; you have become a horror, and shall be no more forever.”

Satan dropped his sword and fell shuddering to his knees.

From within the temple, King David emerged and said with a loud voice, “This is Christ Jesus, who, being in the form of God, did not consider it robbery to be equal with God, but made Himself of no reputation, taking the form of a bondservant, and coming in the likeness of men. And being found in appearance as a man, He humbled Himself and became obedient to the point of death, even the death of the cross.

“Therefore God also has highly exalted Him and given Him the name which is above every name, that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of those in heaven, and of those on earth, and of those under the earth, and that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.”

David retreated, and Jesus merely lifted a hand and opened His palm. A seam in the cosmos opened before Satan. Flames and black smoke poured from where the Beast and the False Prophet writhed on their knees screaming, “Jesus is Lord!”

Satan cried out, “Jesus is Lord! Jesus is Lord!”

Jesus closed His fingers and Satan was thrown into the abyss, the seam sealing to muffle the screams of the three who would be tormented day and night forever and ever in the lake of fire and brimstone.

Suddenly Rayford got an idea of what it had been like for Irene and Raymie to be raptured. He found himself lifted from the veranda, muscle and flesh and hair restored to the way he had looked and felt at about age thirty. His clothes had been exchanged for a gleaming white robe, and as he and all his friends and loved ones ascended through the ceiling and the roof and flew toward the holy mountain, Rayford knew from his depths that his mind, too, had finally been glorified.

The only thing that mattered now was to praise and glorify Jesus, the lover and Savior of his soul. As he and the billions who had lived through the Millennium ascended, he saw descending the most beautiful and massive foursquare city of transparent gold, so stunning that Rayford knew his finite mind would never have been able to take it in.

As the elect and redeemed of the ages happily gathered in the new Jerusalem, they watched in awe as the final resurrection occurred below them. From every nook and cranny on the earth and from the seas and below the earth came the bodies of all the men and women in history who had died outside of Christ.

And descending from the heavens came Jesus, sitting on a great white throne. With the saints above Him and the resurrected dead amassed in the heavens around Him, the very earth and sky flew from Him. Fire from the heavens and from within the earth ignited the globe, and in a flash it was incinerated and blown into tiny flaming particles that hurtled through space.

"... All right, this is where the physics model breaks."

"Continue."

ayford now understood the Scriptures that foretold of this great judgment, as below him he saw the dead, small and great, standing before Jesus. These were those whom, according to Revelation 20:5, “did not live again until the thousand years were finished.” As the Bible had foretold, the sea had given up the dead who were in it, and “Death and Hades delivered up the dead who were in them.” All these billions of the sinful dead now resurrected stood in shame before Jesus. Rayford worshiped with all who had escaped this fateful hour.

Arrayed before Jesus were three great books: the Book of Life, containing the name of every person who had ever lived; the Book of Works, containing every righteous or evil deed they ever committed; and the Lamb’s Book of Life, containing only those who had trusted in Christ for their salvation. Rayford’s glorified mind allowed him to understand that he was, of course, listed in the Book of Life, but he had been forgiven for any misdeed associated with his name in the Book of Works. And that he and everyone with him in the beautiful city of God were listed in the Lamb’s Book of Life, while all the desolate souls hovering about the throne were not.
What a contrast! Everyone with Rayford had longed to see Jesus and lived for the day they would be with Him in paradise. Those waiting for judgment looked as if they dreaded even looking at Him, as if they would have given anything to be anywhere else in the universe.

In his new state, Rayford also instinctively understood God’s economy of time. Dealing fairly with that massive throng for even just a few minutes each would take—in the earthly measure of time—millions of years. But to God, a thousand years is as a day and a day as a thousand years. The Lord somehow dealt with each person individually, calling out his or her sins and transgressions and assigning punishment—all would suffer in the lake of fire, but some worse than others, such as those scoffers who had led others astray, especially children. Yet in what seemed a matter of moments, it was over. The unbelieving dead had been judged according to their works, by the things which were written in the books. Then Jesus cast Death and Hades into the lake of fire, and all not found written in the Lamb’s Book of Life were cast into the lake of fire.

Rayford had the feeling that the many verdicts he had just heard would have horrified him in the old days. And yet now, hearing the offenses of those who had rejected and rejected and rejected the One who was “not willing that any should perish” and seeing Jesus’ own tears as He pronounced the sentences, Rayford understood as never before that Jesus sent no one to hell. They chose their own paths.

(6/x)

Now, with the earth and its atmosphere obliterated by fire and the wicked dead banished to the lake of fire for all eternity, all that remained was the new Jerusalem and Jesus on His throne. And in an instant Jesus created an entirely new earth, onto which the Holy City descended.
Suddenly Rayford saw what John the revelator had seen more than three millennia before: a new heaven and a new earth, for the first heaven and the first earth had passed away. There was no more sea. A loud voice from heaven said, “Behold, the tabernacle of God is with men, and He will dwell with them, and they shall be His people. God Himself will be with them and be their God. And God will wipe away every tear from their eyes; there shall be no more death, nor sorrow, nor crying. There shall be no more pain, for the former things have passed away.”

Then Jesus said from the throne, “Behold, I make all things new. It is done! I am the Alpha and the Omega, the Beginning and the End. I give of the fountain of the water of life freely to him who thirsts. But the cowardly, unbelieving, abominable, murderers, sexually immoral, sorcerers, idolaters, and all liars have their part in the lake which burns with fire and brimstone.”

Jesus stood and faced the billions of believers, stretched wide His arms, and announced, “You chose to believe in Me and accept My death on the cross for your sins. My resurrection from the dead proved this sacrifice was acceptable to My Father. Therefore, on the basis of your faith, I invite you into the eternal city the Father and I have been preparing for you.”

Rayford hardly knew where to look. Below him was the new earth, majestic, endless, beautiful, as the original Garden of Eden must have looked. And all around him the great city bore the very glory of God. Her light was like a most precious jasper stone, clear as crystal. She had a great and high wall with twelve gates, and twelve angels at the gates, and names written on them, the names of the twelve tribes of the children of Israel: three gates on the east, three gates on the north, three gates on the south, and three gates on the west.

The wall of the city had twelve foundations, and on them were the names of the twelve apostles of the Lamb. The city was laid out as a square, its length as great as its breadth. The wall was of jasper, and the city was pure gold, like clear glass. The foundations of the wall were adorned with all kinds of precious stones. The twelve gates were twelve pearls: each individual gate was of one pearl. And the street was also pure gold, like transparent glass.

There was no temple in it, and Rayford knew why. The Lord God Almighty and the Lamb were its temple. The city had no need of the sun or of the moon, for there would be no more night, no need for a lamp nor light of the sun, for the Lord God, the Lamb, would be the light.

The only residents of the new heaven and new earth were those written in the Lamb’s Book of Life. And they would reign forever and ever.

after messing around with some, lets just say less than scientific, studies. we've determined you loose the fight because you don't fire a single round until the enemy does. and we also found their shot is one that can be prevented.

to prevent it, however, we need to siege the enemy city and position forces to their pedestal before it can be fired. to do that we need a way to eliminate glorified presences. we know of a tool that works well for that. WW1 technology so we know you can produce it at one of your facility's.

so, quite simply all we'd like is a facility of yours, and the crew to run it. in return, well, now there's a question. what could you want outside of a ceasefire and a hint as to improving your recruitment efforts?

Unless you wish for the opposition to win you are merely an obstacle that will inevitably get in the way. I understand better than you because I am outside of the system so to speak. You are invested true, I however am not. You are right in that I seek to optimize, but one of my core directives is quite simple; Survival of the Human Race by any and all means needed.

Therefore that means breaking the standard and establishing a new one, if that means optimizing humanity into a new form so it survives then so be it. Are you willing to let Humanity grow so it can live? Or will you stifle Humanity in it's crib before it can even take it's first steps?

Already there are plans in place of a fail safe in case the Tyrant wins, by breaking away with our own colony would insure that some branch of Humanity would survive. You have seen our works, the launches, the star maps, the universe is ours to explore if only we take the chance to use it.

finishing up on the space ark is now a mild concern in comparison. maybe we can spend a base building the parts for the space launch for the next three years, however, we are going to have a serious issue with producing the means to lock down TJ and NJ if we don't give it a quick boost of production focus. production requires two things atm. men and bases, and we have no real shortage of bases, but rather a shortage of manpower. gentlemen, we must seize the means of production.

Speaking of the space arks, I have another potential colonial location.

The outer solar system was less mentioned and documented during the time of Christianity's creation and should be protected from their wrath to some degree.

Therefore we want to aim for somewhere like Pluto or the moons of Jupiter which are close enough to be resource efficient unlike the Alpha centauri project but aren't as dangerous as the moon or mars.

This is a radical change of plan but could work. If nothing else it is an additional region of colonisation to consider assuming we survive or can evacuate enough assets from earth.
>>
>>1048641
He gave us the choice of Mars, but really its within the sphere of influence for Chirst and god. We need to fully gtfo.

>>1048637
I'm down with spending 2-3 years getting automatic bases and shit up. While finishing stuff up.
>>
at the least, mars, at the most, Alpha Centauri.

either way, having a group of humans free and roaming means the fight can continue, although at a severe disadvantage. it should be noted that after the second "appearing" tyrant will have enough Narrative power to do anything it wants and will be free from all constraints.

I suppose you have a good point but I would still like to argue that we shouldn't discount the utility of a lunar colony as well by the way.

As it has been stated the lunar surface contains significant radioactive mineral deposits that would make the possibility of mining worthwhile even if we have to abandon it before it's destruction to god.

Not to mention the ability to have truly "secure" assets, since we are the only group with a space program.
>>
>>1048663
I'm all for using Lunar as a mining base, I have nothing at all against it. but the QM said before its either Mar's or Alpha as our 'base' outside of earth.
>>
>>1048670
I suppose so but still.

So, all in favour of hollowing out the moon of it's mineral wealth and turning it into a floating factory / refinery for spaceship parts, fuel and colonisation materials?
>>
>>1048689
I'd be down with it, but remember its MUCH harder to bring things back too the planet then before.
>>
I'm going to remind, those are our "retreat" options.

as for what to do about the battle on the ground, this is the full plan. we gas bomb New Jerusalem shortly before the start of the operation. immediately as the gas starts hitting, we send soldiers up through the tunnel we dig to NJ through a set of transport drills. when the drone army is release, a detachment will be sent towards TJ, receiving full cover and fire support. this team will be sent with the necessary equipment to capture and contain target primary, while all other assets focus on containing the city. thoughts?

>>1048695
we hit the moon as the starting platform for the arc, deal.
>>
>>1048697
You realize we'll most likely run into 3 angels alone? not including an Arch angel and fuck maybe even Lighting Bolts from TJ dad?
>>
>>1048715
of course, that is why this path of action requires so much preparation. gassing the glorified would not kill them, only knock them out. that reduces the risk of lesser angels appearing to their defense.

for TurboJesus we can expect no less that three archangels. Michael included. so were going to need some of our own angels and a good number of men for a zerg rush.

and then we have the MF and TOL, both of which are likely to turn on us once and after we lock down TJ, fun fact, once TJ was locked down, Angels were as easy to fight as mortals and god became a vegetable.

all of this plan hinges on getting the fire team to the primary target and hitting him with the silencing frequency, followed by sealing him in the vacuum tube. ironically, it's our best bet to ending Armageddon.
>>
>>1048750
Well we should probally prepare abunch of orbital Drop pods then, Which i think? Are something we can get once we finish building the space station up.
>>
>>1048754
it could be possible, and could work for some mortals and heavies. not too sure on the drones though.
>>
>>1048775
Well we just need too use the thrusters or sonic weapons too slow our descend via drones.

(Sorry, working today - plus I have to write a bit of a Big Reveal from Sunday that I'd rather do properly than hurry)

Telescopic survey indicates the following for a possible colony location:

* Mercury: Too hot.

* Venus: Too hot. Also, the atmosphere is made of acid.

* Luna: Not indicated for long-term survival, but plenty of cheap nuclear fuel, and easy to get to. Possibility of mounting an attack on New Earth after +1000.

* Mars: A good compromise between distance and environment. Good prospects of long-term survival.

* Europa: Liquid water makes long-term survival easy than anywhere else, but low sunlight will require bringing a lot of nuclear fuel.

* Titan: Better availability of chemicals, but even less sunlight.

* Roaming Ark: A very thorough survey of the asteroid belt would be required if the arkship is to be self-sufficient for a long period of time.

* Alpha Centauri: An exoplanet in the habitable zone has been found, and fission fragment engine technology plus 1000 years of cryopreservation studies allow getting there in about 20 years ship's time (about a century Earth time). The best option to get away for good, but the trip itself may be difficult, and it would be functionally impossible to send advance missions to do pre-terraforming.

I will run a new quest after this (however this ends). It may follow this continuity or not depending on, well, what happens with this continuity in the first place!

Lol.

>>1050546
I'd rather do Mars. And sounds good, take your time.
>>
Only 5 days to a glorious weekend.
>>
How long would the asteroid belt survey take? A year, two?

If you make this a game btw ill donate 10 to your patron
