This only works if he's lunging and off-balance. And his blade is made of crap metal.

On a level white background he'll likely recover his blade quick enough to counter with a mittelhau to your neck. Also, given his late-period armor I'd assume that the sword is of good quality and would not break from a mere foot-stomp.
The shield is probably decorative tho.
