With a final swing, the end of your shovel lightly taps on the ground, the fervor of the night behind you. It's silent out. Not a soul alive for the longest stretch of land. Bodies upon bodies lie outside, but you don't bother to look.
Instead, you watch as the blood from the dead cop crawls from tile to tile, the dips in the surface being filled to the brim. Slowly, the trail makes it's way downward toward the wall. You take a step forward, and open the tomb.
You find ancient remains and a lovely axe beside him. Was this what you wanted? Gently, you push the heavy slab out and over. It collides onto the floor below, filling the tomb with a somber resonance. Slow, light breaths are taken as you reach inside your pocket.
You fumble, just a little, before grabbing onto what you wanted to look for. Your To-Do List. It's crumbled, the crude writing on it barely legible. Your eyes slowly make their way down, a little thought accompanying each box that you pass. Then, you stop.
Slowly, your eyes close, and when they open again, you find yourself looking out into the pitch black night sky. There are no stars to find. You wonder, just for a moment, if you would find what you've looking for what is seemingly your entire existence.
A deep sigh cuts through the air. With a light saunter, you make your way out and into the great beyond.
God fucking damn it, where's a bathroom when you need it?
