An EM engine would mean it's much much cheaper to get something into orbit.
It would bassicaly make commercial development of Earth gravitational field a lot more practical.

Also you could only spend fuel to get to Mars, but use the EM engine to get back.

The anons who actually used that thread for its intended purposes are still on /a/, discussing raw manga. Something the thread should have been about from the get go when taking into consideration what the original moderation statement regarding the presence of the thread was.
It all honestly, having a raw manga thread time to time on /a/ is something that will naturally attract anons who actually want to learn Japanese for /a/ related reasons. If they want resources to get them up to the raw reading stage, they can be directed to the general on /int/ for their op site link. Once those anons are up and reading and happily discussing raw manga with other anons on /a/, it will naturally tend to feed back and forth into and out of the occasional scanlation threads on /a/.

Having the scanlation thread every now and then alongside having a raw manga discussion thread every now and then both have a symbiotic relationship that is both far more relevant and beneficial to /a/ than DJT could ever hope to be by the stage it reached a fair while back.
