/a/ is roughly twice as big as /co/ and actually has maintained a rather constant activity level over the last like 6 months. /co/ is in gradual decline in activity over the same time period despite shitty meme shows like Star and Steven Universe making waves on it and all the comic book movie shit also buoying the board. Unlike a perception /a/ is simply a bit lower in quality compared to the last two years, a common view is /co/ has had it far worse with its old self utterly destroyed and taken over by tumblr/leddit.

Suffice to say OP has literally no idea what he's fucking talking about and pulling incredibly stupid ideas out his ass. Combining /a/ and /co/ is one of the worst things you could possibly do. They would get along like oil and water.

Forcing this "/a/ / anime is dying" shit is a farce. You know what's actually dying? Fucking most of 4chan. Many boards have like 2/3rds or less the traffic they did in 2013, with some boards (like /v/) holding stable at best. /pol/ and /int/ are the only boards that bucked this trend so they naturally spike relative to everything else. That being said /int/ is only slightly bigger than /a/ and seems to have petered out.

5 years ago /v/ used to make fun of the Halo/GoW/CoD crowd. Now it unironically discusses these and how has the board overall gotten as a result? Worse.

/co/ used to put its foot down on tumblr shit. Then got taken over by it. What do they have now? Endless general circlejerks full of shipping and even RP bullshit. It got worse.

Eons ago, people used to insist they make an effort to be funny or original on /b/. I am talking like ten+ years ago. Standards got lax and now the entire board is porn/rate me/"my gf"/roll threads. It has not produced something original or funny in what.. Has it really been ten years? Feels like it, or it is at least close to that.

Splitting anime and manga is silly since most anime are derived directly from manga unlike western comics and western cartoons which are often their own separate IPs with crossover media that are loosely based on them.
