The only reason Peggy Noonan used the word on television is because some right wing hack peer of Milo's on some blog called Jeb Bush that. It has very little if anything to do with 4chan.

Wordfilters are just pointless since rather than just seeing the words normally and letting them die out like normal, people know it pisses the mods off and continue to do it more, and then we have to see a million variations of whatever is filtered. It doesn't work because frankly nobody gives a shit. If people want to say it they'll find a way to go around the filter and post it anyway.
