The weirder it gets the more captivating I find it.
>>
A few years ago I saw 4chan going downhill, so I started browsing Reddit. After getting used to the site I found some communities were decent enough but by large they're all shit. Good porn site though, but /r/watchitfortheplot might as well be /r/watchitforthereposts. All the communities I browsed turned to shit, partially because they were smaller and my crossboarder shitposting was starting to become acceptable. 4chan wasn't getting better, either, and by now it was my only site. NeoGAF banned me within hours of my first post making a joke about the moderation team being well-known pedophiles.
What else do I have?
What websites are there that I can browse for mecha, anime, and weeb games?

>making a joke about the moderation team being well-known pedophiles.
To be fair, you could get banned for saying that here too. And they wouldn't be wrong to think someone making stupid jokes like that is a mostly useless contributor to the website.
>>
>>406464
It was an innocuous comment in an otherwise well-reasoned post.

Also, I've been calling the mods here pedophiles for year and I've never been banned.
>>
>>406451
SA? Really though, 4chan is only as good as much as you are actively involved in it.
>>
>>406467
>SA
You mean the shitty forum that people stopped browsing more than a decade ago, and is now full of obnoxious SJWs, and has a paywall? Fuck that.

4chan is pretty much dead. Sad but true. /a/ is pretty much dead, /v/ has slowed down signifigantly, /tg/ is nothing but a few quest threads sporadically bumped, and /co/ is overrun with tumblr. The most active board is /pol/ but that's only because of Trump.
>>
>>406451
>so I started browsing Reddit
Instead of helping 4chan, you just became part of the problem. Congratulations.
>>
I think 4chan's doing alright. I like that it's sort of stepped out of the spotlight of being "the crazy hacker/meme factory" site.

Of course it'll never be perfect, but it could be a lot worse.
>>

The problem is losers that, for lack of anything else in their lives, actually believe in site allegiance and start shit posting whenever another site is brought up. The only problem with reddit are the faggots bitching about it. There are, and will always be, cross siters, and there is literally nothing you can do about it.
People who use reddit use 4chan.
People who use tumblr use 4chan.
People who use facebook use 4chan.
Type 4chan into Google, what comes up? 4chan. It's not on the deep web. Everybody knows about it. And there is nothing you can do about it.
>>
The only thing wrong with it is the selective moderation. Everything else is fine
>>
Monotonous shitposting has consumed the zeitgeist of 4chan in the past few years. Other issues are the concept of "lurk more" growing out of fashion. There's too much new and not enough old to contain it.
It also doesn't help that the moderation is largely made up of complete fuckwads, but I suppose moderators usually aren't much different than the userbase they rule over.
>>
>>406540
>and start shit posting whenever another site is brought up
Correction, whenever another cancerous site that start to shit our boards is brought up.
>The only problem with reddit are the faggots bitching about it
The only problem with reddit is reddit. Splitted circlejerkish community full of attention whores and people who think they are the gods of that site, where you are censored for having a different opinion, stealing content and overusing jokes and terms until they are recognized as part of classic Internet culture. If you think Reddit is fine, you are just another deluded shitposter that arrived here after 2012, pretending to be old just to make your damage control argument more "reliable".
But yeah, you are right. I can't do nothing. moot may have a reddit account, and may be a redditor, but remember, Hiro isn't. He is the owner of this site. If he wants to ban redditors, he can.
>>
>>406609
you're just buying into the boogeyman conspiracy bullshit
what proof do you have that redditors are doing anything
like serious actual proof
none
so shut the fuck up
>>
>asks whether 4chan is beyond saving
>posts the cancer that is killing is
All feelfags must be banned for life. It is the only way to save this place.
>>
>>406640
So should weaboos
>>
>>406642
Agreed. /jp/ is not helping matters either. However, feelfags are an immediate threat.
>>
>>406622
/r/4chan is a pretty obvious proof.
>>
>>406609
>But remember, hiro isn't.
Kek, ooo scary.
>>
>>406544
That's a major problem actually.
>>
>>406609
only problem with reddit is shitposters which make their own hiveminds akin to what happens to some of the boards here. only so many subreddits bother to call out the shittiness but they themselves are subject to reddit's flaws. circlebroke is as much of a circlejerk over hating reddit as the average person to frequents TRP.

It was damned from the start.
>>
Reddit for serious discussion, 4chan for shitposting. I'm happy with this.
>>
>>408426
Reddit is so weird. They literally call jokes "shitposts" for some reason. Like, on 4chan shitposting is generally associated with trolling, right? Yet on Reddit it's somehow a positive thing?

Same with circlejerking, apparently. I don't fully understand that one.
