I still read the manga, but I don't read any discussions about it, so I have no idea what the fandom is like. Is it really that bad?

I'm not exactly into the series but from what I understand, it started to go downhill once the 2012 anime aired. Which is par for the course, yes, but JoJo suffered a much harsher fall than usual. Stuff like JoJokes or Duwang didn't help.
