I think phones and browsers are caught up with VP9 now. So, can we please get it allowed for webms now?

phones could never open webms to start with

Some can't open the 60fps webms, but can with everything else. I think iphones had trouble with 60fps? At least one set of people complain when I post 60fps webms.

You cannot open a webm on a factory iPhone.

Then I really don't see the problem of upping to VP9 either.
>>1561157
This was my experience too, but I thought there was some shenanigans you could do to preserve vp8 output quality.

I'm on laptop. It doesn't play on my browser.
I experience significant frame drop when playing this with a separate player.

Most likely, via command prompt, yes. But, clicking some checkboxes in WEBM for Retards is what I like. I mean the problem is so old, this message still talks about Moot.

It uses VP8, but, it is also 60fps and 3465kbps.

>3465kbps.
Err, 7655kbps
How may I generate vp9 thumbnails in Windows 7? When webm support was first implemented people recommended people install "Media Preview Configuration" to generate thumbnails, but I learned a year ago they only generate vp8 thumbnails.

Yes you can but not in browser.

If I get a factory new iPhone and click a webm, there is no way to play it.

You of course know what native means, and why downloading an app would stop an iPhone being classified as a factory install. Hence you made all of those posts ironically. Very funny anon.

>why downloading an app would stop an iPhone being classified as a factory install.
Opening a 4chan thread in a browser would stop an iPhone from being classified as a factory install.

I just made one, to test this, and the thumbnail popped right up in Explorer on Win7 Home Premium 64-bit. I use MPC-HC with K-Lite Codec Pack and all the misc crap it contains in the pack. One of those probably can control it.
>>1561153
never
>>1561379
oh christ. I use the Kawaii Codec Pack version of MPC-HC. I hope I can install K-Lite to maybe a specific folder and avoid, how you say, contradictions...

why not?
