So, I'm not that tech savy and I want to know how to change my IP address.
I looked online for answers, and every time I type in ipconfig/renew, etc, it tells me my media is disconnected and I have no idea what that means. : (

Who doesn't
Unplug your router.
Don't plug it back in.

I dont know in US, but here (in France), it becomes harder and harder to renew it. I think it because of lack of available ipv4 address.
Unplug your box/router/whatever, and wait a long time. Like 2 days...

Go to your router's administration webpage (enter your router's IP address into your browser), then spoof your WAN MAC address, and reset your modem. You don't even have to restart your router.

It depends on what you mean. Your Public IP or External IP is what people view when you are on the internet(http://www.canyouseeme.org you can use to view your Public IP). Your private IP or Internal is your IP for when you are connected to a LAN or WLAN. Dynamic IPs can change, Static IPs can not. If your IP is given by a DHCP server then the answer is yes. If not then sadly no. Changing the MAC Address on your router can make you gain a new Public IP address depending on your ISP. ipconfig/renew will only change your IP for your LAN or WLAN connection. Best to contact your ISP about changing it.
