A mammal that lives in Sub-Saharan Africa. Hippos are herbivores that maintain a semi-aquatic lifestyle despite their inability to swim. Their name is derived from an ancient Greek word meaning "river horse." They can be intensely territorial creatures.

They weigh two tons and are able to reach speeds of up to 30 miles per hour, leaving Usain Bolt in the dust. They have teeth that run over a foot long and possess the strongest bite in the mammalian kingdom. Hippos are responsible for over 2,000 human deaths per year. They are noted for their mean streak and are not docile animals you can safely approach.
