Passive aggression can be as much as flipping someone's pencil holder over in their old office they will never revisit again. The point is those persons don't exercise communicating what they expect of you and why they do, so that purgatory of discomfort gives them the freedom to willingly exclude you if they want to. It's like Schrodinger's douchebag where their malicious remark is only a joke if you're offended.

One's presence doesn't have to cause anyone discomfort or insecurity, and if it does it means they've failed to consider and respect you, so nothing else considered you bounce.
