what /m/echa stuff does /qa/ like
I haven't seen much from the big robot franchises, but i thought "War in the Pocket" was good and "08th MS Team" was great. Off the top of my head, l also enjoyed RideBack, Zegapain, Rinne no Lagrange, Mars Daybreak, and Suisei no Gargantia—I would recommend any or all of these!

I haven't seen much, just every Gundam entry prior to SEED, VOTOMS, SDF Macross and DYRM, Gunbuster, Evangelion, Escaflowne, FMP, Code Geass, TTGL and some other original works by Sunrise I don't remember.
Man, that's actually a lot. I'd say my favorites are 0079, VOTOMS, DYRM, Gunbuster and Turn A.
Evangelion
Does Nanoha count?
Macross.
I haven't watched/read much /m/ stuff overall other than a bunch of popular stuff. Macross is my favourite mecha series from what I've seen, I liked all of them, 7 was a bit harder to get into than the others at first but it gets better and it's OVA are good too, also they all have some great soundtracks. Another one I like is VOTOMS, and I suffer from mild battered wife syndrome concerning The Five Star Stories manga.

Sorry but if you don't like love triangles Macross is not for you.

Love triangles are pretty much a given in any Macross series, you should try it anyway though as I'm not really one for romance drama either and I enjoyed it.
Mechs are stupid.

I believe the old Transformers anime is regarded as a classic.

/qa/ is treadhead territory, pal.
still watching nobunaga the fool. it's much more serious than i thought, if not exactly dark. more hotblooded, maybe. it's pretty cool though, and while bad things happen they happen for a reason both in & out of universe. i really don't like it when characters die just to inject some tension/pathos into the narrative, but it's ok if it's part of the author/director making a greater point
What are some good mecha series that are more war related than sci fi related. I don't like sci fi as a genre for some reason but I like military.

Check out Mobile Suit Gundam: 08th MS Team. It gets called the "Apocalypse Now" of the Gundam franchise and follows one normal squad's war. Plus you don't really need any knowledge of the wider franchise to jump into and appreciate it.
