Can someone explain ban-evading via a phone to me? Is there a limit to how many IPs you can obtain? Are mobile IPs distinguishable from others (and if so, do mobile IPs 'look' similar)?
I don't know shit about technology, by the way. I just think it's crazy how buying a phone gives any idiot the ability to evade as many bans as they want, whenever they want.

Phones get assigned an IP from a pool and can easily disconnect and connect to switch between IPs in the pool. That means that a ban against a phoneposter, to be effective, has to be a cookie ban or a range ban. And cookie bans only work on idiots. As for whether the IPs "look different", anyone can see that they're mobile IPs if they look up what ISP owns them. You can also tell it's a phone without having to look up the IP by examining the User-Agent header sent by the browser.

Thank you, I'll look more into this.
