What do you think about allowing posting in threads that got archived?
Rules:
-You had to post at least once in the thread while it was alive
-Half the character limit and no images
-24 hours after no replies thread gets locked
-Thread dies as usual
This would allow discussions that wouldn't warrant a new thread to go on and reach conclusion.

Why did you impose these restrictions?
Also no since this incentives those discord boogeyman places to use secret threads for malicious purposes while under no scrutiny.

If you want a lengthy discussion start a new thread.

No point in keeping it 'alive' if no one is interested.

The point is to finish a discussion, not to start a new one, you should create a new thread for that.

This is already happening and will happen regardless, you can't limit people to only use 4chan.
