These guys generally have botnets or otherwise a range of IPs in the thousands that gets refreshed every week or so. The thread would have to be babysat 24/7.

To ruin everyone else's ability to use the thread, I guess. He has been at it for a few months now and ruined /mmog/ as well, from what I hear. It has been literal months since anyone could talk about GW2 on /vg/, hence why threads sometimes crop up on /v/ lately. And still the mods do nothing.

But the same can be said for almost why thread on /vg/, I haven't seen one that didn't devolve into petty drama and autistic shitposting because the board is barely moderated as is. A limited number of namefags can derail the general because any post they make causes anons to reply that they want to fuck/will not play with said namefag. In fact most generals seem to be more concerned with discussing namefags/memes than the actual game, like /dg/ posting about boipucci or /meg/'s old disclaimer that the thread literally does not discuss the game anymore and is devoted to autistic ERP (though that was a couple years ago).

/vg/ is a shit board all around, at least /gw2g/ was useful for occasionally asking questions or finding people to group with.
