Because the paradise /pol/ dreams of _already existed_ on 4chan back in the day and across the entire nerdy side of the internet that was still very segregated from social media.
But instead of defending it, having 1 place that you could actually enjoy and take a breather, and only being an activist on the _outside_, you had to go and pull a Chanology and say "WE ARE /POL/, WE DO NOT FORGIVE OR FORGET, EXPECT US"'
