Why does /news/ exist? Dozens of anons warned against the creation of this completely unnecessary board because it would undoubtedly become blue /pol/. There is not a single "article" posted on /news/ that does not contain a far-right or far-left slant, or isn't blatant sensationalism or gossip. Virtually none of the news sources are objective or non-partisan, and all consistently fail mediabiasfactcheck.com
Mods clearly do not give a fuck about enforcing rules on /news/. Fake news and /pol/troll threads are reported several times a day, resulting in 90% of threads on /news/ ending up in the report queue. Nothing is ever deleted and no anons are ever moderated against, and threads slowly build up racism and other garbage until they finally auto-sage weeks later.
If the mods can't be arsed to enforce the rules, then why leave the board in place at all? It serves no purpose whatsoever than to be yet another /pol/ safe space and attract more bad rep to 4chan.

I wish /news/ was properly moderated as well, Anon, but deleting the whole board is a little harsh. It's not like it's taking up a lot of bandwidth or anything. I might be alone but I still think it has potential. You can still have a decent discussion there if you disregard the obvious /pol/bait and people who just want to bitch and moan about everything.
