How did the poopoo peeepee thing start? What are the implications in it? I'm guessing it's definitely an [r9k] thing, all I know is that it was a thing when I started browsing 4chan again.

I mean, if you look for connections probably the best you'll find is that it's a reference to shitposting, and I'm sure that has something to do with it.

It's definitely used for shitposting but I think that's honestly just more of a coincidence.

If I really had to guess why it spread around I'd say it has more to do with being a subtle way of implying that they're impervious to anything. Sort of like saying "I roll around in my own shit, do you honeslty think there's anything you can do to make me stop trolling your thread?"
Not literally of course, but that's the visual subtext in my opinion.
