To be honest it was mostly apolitical, nobody really cared about politics. I think some new comers my say old 4chan was more "leftist" because it was more tolerant of stuff like traps and male cosplaying, after all this is an anime website so there's always bound to be lots of people like that and they are defended by the community in return of cute pictures being posted by these cosplayers. And sometimes like others said it it was rebellious, like the Scientology Church thing, nothing serious or political as far as I know.
