Does a board being heavily spammed even change anything?
Take /vp/. Even battered by heavy spam for a week everyone knew it would be back soon enough so members left for a while and returned later.
Now a few days later. /vp/ is back to its regular state.
Are trolls, spammers and various other groups really just wasting their time?

Yes, but of course, the weeb mafia hasn't figured this out just yet.

>Are trolls, spammers and various other groups really just wasting their time?
depends on the endgame
We're all wasting our time.
/vp/ deserves that nuke honestly. Lately it's been running rampant with more summerfags than usual, and all it's good for is posting stealth furbait generals until mods come around and sweep them.
Hell, there was even a cult hypnotizing themselves into thinking they were pokemon hosted there once, and people actually caught onto it for god knows why
it grew at a really frigtening pace but luckily the consensus was to shut it down and ban it for good
it's a safe space for a really low form of subhumanity that doesn't want to fuck off to /trash/

Seems like a pretty tame board from the catalog?
Some memetrash images, but mostly interesting and on topic threads.
It gets spammed a fair amount by people from what I recall anyways.
Not sure where you're seeing it.

It's what you expect from adult pokemon fans
It killed /qa/ in 2015. These days it's used to purge raid threads so it's more of a chaotic good.
