As usual the real solution is to just ignore them, but you'll never realize that because it actually DOES matter to you. You can't want them to stop and then on the other hand act like they aren't effecting you.

I have trust in this boards ability to properly handle trolls at certain hours except American prime time, so I only try to control the troll in those time zones.

This is flawed and exactly why social media is such garbage.

When you make a community think like that all it does is make people crave the loudest voice. It makes everyone forget that everyone has their own opinion and focus too much on some sort of illusion that there's an "official public opinion" that must be maintained.

Of course once you have that it doesn't make the trolls stop, all it does is makes their victory all the more sweet because you're almost legitimizing it by saying whoever is the majority wins (that's the reason there are so many services out there that actually sell upvotes/dowvotes, likes, shares, etc.) They aren't going to give up, they just come back with numbers, or the illusion of numbers via changing their IP or whatever.

Ignoring isn't the ultimate end-game solution either, but honestly it's the best we have at the moment.
What's really needed is for more private-style modes of discussion. Mixing public and private in a beautiful way would be the solution to everyone's trolling problems.
But nevertheless, ignoring is the best we have in these fully public discussion sites. But for the meantime, just ignore. It honestly works better than you might think.

One raid group tires itself out and another one appears, not that these /bant/ children are anything new with their bland forced memes and boring random "anime" images.
The thing I don't understand is that at the beginning these kids blatantly copied /qa/ stuff to post on /bant/ and even proudly said they were doing it. Now it's like they've entered their teenaged rebellion phase and want to show that they don't "need" /qa/ and are lashing out at it. It's so juvenile.
Why does /qa/ attack these sociopaths? Seriously. It just wants to be left alone, and it functions fine through these "trolls", but I can't help but wonder why it upsets people so much.
