Spot on, I'd only started hearing about it when people kept bringing it up constantly and turning it into a boogeyman. I don't browse it though because I hate their layout and I prefer anonymity, I think the only times I've been there is through links on here or google when I'm searching for answers to stuff.

Naruto is a gateway anime of the worst kind. It's a bad series, a clusterfuck of story and characterization that isn't very well done by any aspect, but which attempts to compensate for its weaknesses by adding in excessive shipping faggotry and DARKNESS. The normal anon can see this as the shit it is, and may enjoy it, hate it or be indifferent to it, but all the while recognizing that the series itself, regardless of their opinion, is plain bad.

However, these very aspects that try to smear over the shit of its core make it a breeding ground for aspie, unsociable underageb& faggots who engage in every kind of faggotry both online and in the real world. The superpowered characters all trying their hardest to look cool, the jutsus, peculiar, colorful clothes, the whole ninja faggotry and everything about the Naruto world fuels their escapist fantasies, while the pity-party character backgrounds, emphasis on revenge, and overall preachiness of the series make it fit just right with the mary-sueish drives of your average preteen and his sense of unwarranted self-importance towards the world. Exactly the kind of shit that makes little kiddies and underageb& retards eat this shit right the fuck up.

Naruto is basically THE series to attract the most hated anime fanbase known to /a/, which is why, regardless of individual opinions, it is the responsibility of every anon to troll the fuck out of this show and everyone who likes it, and ensure that no Naruto threads ever encourage the newfriends to show their faces here.

The thing is Naruto is a magnet for idiots who don't even know how to discuss something properly nor did they watch a lot of series to have a better taste. Why is Gaia considered shit? Because most of their threads are about Naruto or Twilight. Sure I wouldn't care if it was a one thread with normal posts and spelling but most threads are something like:"sasuke is uber kawaii i am going to cosplay naruto at school gambatte" Having more Naruto threads here lures those kind of people who know about 4chan because of "funny images and jokes" and they usually ignore global rule about being underage. Do you see Japanese 2chan anime board having endless discussions and fanwanking about Naruto? No. Why? Because they think its a silly show for children.

It's stupid, it's full of plotholes, it's littered with characters that are just plain HORRIBLE, the fanbase is on par with the twilight and avatar one, atrocious fanshippers who watch the stuff only to see which girl will the protagonist that is irrefutably gay fuck first, extremely undeveloped characters and a utterly ridiculous anti hero who's lifeline is deus ex machina, actually, 98% of characters rely on that because Kishimoto can't write above anything what a caveman with a club lodged up his prehistoric anus could.

Also did i mention it's very yaoi'ish, thus attracting fujoshi and white knights who follow them, mouthbreathers and faggots? It also it attracts ADHD children, which, no matter how much your mother told you to respect the sick, are not wanted on /a/ and should just die off like the waste of resources they are.

First of all, the author should stop retconning, writing over plot holes and utterly stupid bullshit. Just glance over the latest chapters:

- This manga is so gay. Ninja Romantica is what it should be named. Main character hyperventilates and passes out just by thinking about his lover. No, really. Then Naruto wakes up and the first thing he does is chase after Sasuke again, and when they meet even Sasuke questions his obsession (omg ur so gay Naruto stop humping my leg). And the worst thing is Naruto’s answer: “NOOO WE DIE TOGEHER after buttfucking”. I can’t believe this shit actually happened.
- Kishi said through Kakashi, one of the wisest characters in the series, that the Sharingan was said to descend from the Byakugan, but this got retconned a few chapters ago - not anymore, the sharingan descends from the sage’s rinnegan, and fuck the byakugan
- Sasuke survives with absolutely no chakra against deidara, against a nuke. Possibly biggest asspull in the series.
- Kisame knew Gai was a taijutsu user from fighting him not once but twice, yet suddenly loses half his braincells during their last fight, forgets this little fact and loses because of it.
- The moon goes around the earth. Madara's plan is hypnotizing everyone on earth with a moon-sharingan. Derp.
- Naruto forgot about Hinata. Chapter count: over 100
- Pain is later revealed to be Naruto’s distant cousin from the Uzumaki clan
- His father, his mother, a fox, a crow, a frog and his dark persona live in Naruto’s belly, with Bee and his octopus popping by for visits.
- Itachi could have kidnapped Sasuke all this time, or at least told him the truth about Konoha, and the truth about Madara, and prevent all this faggotry, but Kishi wanted to milk it
- 600 billion exploding pieces of paper would cover about 14% of the earth’s surface. And it IS fucking retarded.

- Suddenly, ever dead person who ever mattered and a few who didn’t (including Haku, Zabuza and all the Akatsuki) are revived by a bullshit ressurection jutsu, rendering their deaths completely impactless. As if it wasn’t bad enough, the only way to defeat these zombies is with the power of friendship. No, really.
- Sasuke’s incredibly dumb and flawed reasoning of allying with Madara and attacking Konoha to get revenge for his brother (which Sasuke himself killed in the first place), even though that’s the one thing his brother specifically didn’t want and he made this damn clear.
- Retcons here are the rule. Sasuke meeting Karin in the forest of death, or Gaara suddenly being able to use sand without Shukaku. Just a few of the numerous examples.
- Naruto twists his ankle by accident (derp) right after getting the biggest powerup in the series, as a convenient excuse to have Gai fight
- The three stooges who are supposed to be strong jounin somehow really think they could capture and properly detain an S rank missing ninja in a wood prison. Did they not learn from their fumble with Kisame? They should know by now that these people won't give out any information, act like real ninjas for once (oh the blasphemy) and go for the kill.
- Naruto still believed he was on a S-ranked ecological mission, despite having Bee and half a dozen strong ninja with him and not knowing jackshit about biology (don’t forget he is the guy who, at the ripe age of 16, thought a pregnant woman was just fat), and spends his time looking at and fondling armadillo penises.
- Seriously? Defeating immortal, regenerating, virtually invincible zombies with the power of friendship? Literally?

- Art got worse as the manga went on. Allegedly tries to mimic a certain animators style, without the benefit of having the art move to make up for the flat look it sports these days.
- Characters have slightly developed over 500 fucking chapters and over 400 episodes. However, Kishimoto’s character development itself tends to be very poorly done, forced and generally poorly-written. Most are single-trait characters with a depressing past tacked on as an excuse to why they personally "never give up."
- Furthermore, these established characters get ignored left and right. Instead of using them, new characters get introduced, who also require additional narrative time to get established. Horrid power escalation, especially with Sasuke and recently also Naruto.
- Oftentimes heavy-handed attempts at symbolism throughout the story.
- Author doesn't quite get the balance right between messianic savior and utter retard, making the MC appear stagnant at times and his achievements seem asspullish.

Bitches don't know that Kishimoto wants you faggots to hate Naruto. Through shitty plot and highschool philosophy he's instilling hate in your heart so you can experience the plot thorougly in person. You're in deeper shit if you got caught in Kishi's genjutsu and hate Naruto fanatically because you're made to live and understand darkness/hate better than anybody without even knowing it.

Naruto is basically a bunch of buildups that inevitably lead to shitty payoffs.

For example, the invasion of Konoha? Fucking awesome idea, just toss the baddest ass badguy, the one who killed Jiraiya in and let him run wild. The entire village has to coordinate their attacks and eventually take him down. Then after all is said and done, the other villages can get in on it and try to take advantage of the fall of the greatest village.

Instead what happened is that we get a few chapters of rampaging and dull fights, then Naruto shows up and has a one-on-one fight with him. Then we hear some stupid weepy backstory. THEN NARUTO WINS HIM OVER WITH HIS STUPID, HALF-FORMED SHITTY PHILOSOPHY. AND THEN HE ASSPULLS A RESURRECTION FOR THE ENTIRE VILLAGE.

Two more recent examples are the ninja war and Konan vs. Madara

The ninja war is basically a bunch of slightly larger scale battles than usual instead of an actual battlefield situation, and Konan vs. Madara could've been an excellent chance to showcase the abilities of two characters that were largely up in the air, but instead was a giant cop-out. Also, 600 billion exploding tags and Naruto is "light personified" HURR.

Even back in the day when it's characters weren't sameface, they most surely were unappealing and whiney (Naruto is a generic ADD shonen hero only even more boring and with extra teenage angst and butthurt, Sasuke is emo and fangirl bait, Sakura is one of the most annoying and useless female characters in all of shonen. Stereotypical tsundere to the main character, pink hair, has a crush on a character which is her only motivation for even trying to do anything).

The action and fights are forgettable on the most part. In the beginning Naruto had a few interesting fights but couldn't really hold his own against any enemies. This is still better than him turning into an overpowered character that uses Rasengan to solve all of his problems.

Story started out rather intriguing though nothing unique by any stretch- ninja school friendship dumb outcast kid trying to become something important blah blah blah. It then spiraled downward into being something out of an obese emo fangirl's fanfiction with lots of ANGST and DARKNESS.

As if the series wasn’t already an abomination, there is also the fanbase, and half of it consists of teenage boys who think its "holy shit epic" because it's the only anime they've ever seen (and they watched the english dub) and because they have no taste or concept of what a well developed story should be.

The even worse half of the fanbase consists of drooling fangirls with ninja headbands and wardrobes entirely bought at hot topic who will become extremely enraged and might try to eat you if you insult their husbando Sasuke-kun or insult their 75 part fanfiction about their mary sue "Charlotte DeGradia Izumi Inami Asami" who has a nine tailed persian cat living inside her and has giant tits.

/jp/'s shitposting is closer to our brand (which is quite close to 2005 era /b/), while /a/'s is closer to the new age imagereddit shitposting common to the rest of the main imageboards.

What that basically means is that /a/ shitposts by having a deluge of completely worthless shit, but isn't interesting in the slightest, or simple garbage that gets repeated simply because it is annoying. Example: '>implying, image macros, and other shit that would have been funny in middle school. /prog/'s and, to a lesser much extent, /jp/'s, shitposting consist of having a few different shitpost methods with at least some thought put into their creation (for example, the `How are breasts attractive' thread, which is completely off topic and ridiculous, but is well written and somewhat interesting none-the-less). Ideas are formed on a questionable premise, then expanded upon until it reaches it's absurd logical conclusion. It may also take the form of making a huge deal over a minor detail, or assuming things that are false and writing a long critique based upon that, or making provably impossible demands. Contrary to Standard 4chan Shitpost Model (S4SM), where the intent is to annoy, the intent of our shitposting is to entertain, provoke discussion, or simply as an exercise in writing.

Since world4ch was not linked to on most boards, and since the average imageredditor ignores anything that isn't a reaction image anyway, the area was left mostly unharmed by the change of shitposting. It remained much more subtle, and resembled machine generated spam less than the imageboard brand. Since /jp/ was at one point full of autistic sexually deviants (a natural pairing for /prog/riders) and were far more computer literate than boards such as /g/ or /b/, they were naturally drawn to programming; /prog/ and /lounge/ (which had a shitposting style slightly different than /prog/, until two retarded children took over the board) was an obvious destination. Since it still wasn't enough of a secret club, they moved off site to places like 4-ch for a few days before returning to /jp/ with a more cultured outlook on shitposting.
