Is rain calming, stressful or depressing?
calming, it makes me sleep better too
It's reddit weather.
It can be any one of those things or all simultaneously. Its hard not attributing characteristics to something like rain even though it has no meaning.
Neither. Rain is liquid water in the form of droplets that have condensed from atmospheric water vapor and then precipitated—that is, become heavy enough to fall under gravity.
Rain does not cause emotions; instead, low atmosphere pressure and decreased light does.

Damp weather triggers memories of the past and through the memories the rain causes emotions.
Also there's the sound of rain which could be calming.

The point is, damp weather and the sound of rain is not rain. See the definition of rain above. It is a specific form of water.

OK
It's kind of depressing. That makes it calming for me though.

Depends what time of year.
In spring, calming. In summer, stressful. In winter, depressing.

Cleansing.
If you lived on the frontlines it might be stressful because it makes it easier to get snuck up on.
Extremely calming to me. I wish I lived somewhere where it rained more often.
It's obviously different once it gets sever and thunder that makes you jump 5 feet in the air enters the picture.
Rain is so soothing.
When I was a kid I had a cool mini-waterfall that sounded like rain. Unfortunately I learned our tap water was "heavy" (minerals) so it left a layer of crap on my stuff.

Everytime I see this question I think of Evangelion:
People told you that rain is supposed to make you sad but if they would've told you that its supposed to make you happy you would be happy.
It was something like that I don't remember but it unironically really made me think :o

Jesus Christ, they're letting cancer overrun this site with no consequences.
If only this rain would wash away all my troubles.
