I don;t see this storm being that big of a deal for Florida. North-traveling hurricanes in the northern hemisphere are most intense in the upper-right quadrant, which is completely out to sea here.

Combined with the storm remaining offshore, this is mostly just going to be some wind and rain for the Florida coast, rather than a "real" storm that makes a direct hit. It is rapidly weakening toward cat. 2 status, and NOAA released this not long ago:

It's been posted a million times that there's building codes in Florida and most of ht ehouses aren't made of cheaply thrown together wood. Also this is the first hurricane in 11 years and it's not destroying much here in in the US so far.

If it makes landfall further north near Jacksonville or Georgia, then that's going to be closer to a real happening since they're less prepared. But even now it looks like the storm is weaking a lot
