Don't take the flags. They're fairly important for some topics that are not shitposting, like the one "Generation Identity" thread, plus I think removing them might actually increase shitposting, since everybody can pretend to be from somewhere (inb4 proxy. yes, but it's more of an effort thus less likely compared to no flags at all).

I don't really see a problem with IDs, but maybe we can try without them for a while, but I can already see how the "samefag"-posts will come back. Right now the IDs are very handy for that kind of stuff and prevent offtopic faggotry about who's the real samefag.

To elaborate: It is impossible that /pol/ will be anything other than a second /b/ when the cooldown times are such that you can spam 10 "really makes you think" threads in 10 minutes without even having to bother with proxies. This is the root cause of the shitposting, and unless it is fixed, all the improvements to moderation in the world will not help because the mods simply can't respond that fast. /pol/ should have the same cooldown timers as the other non-worksafe boards.
