The fireman was acting in self-defense after the cop dropped his bodyweight onto the man's head using his knee. That was deadly force and waaaay excessive.

I consider the cop's excessive force to be a crime. In the video the man is resisting arrest without violence, and the cop drops his knee on the man's head with his body weight behind it. That's quite a leap of force there. I would've liked to see the cop get convicted of a crime.

I would advise against this. It's really easy to injure someone if you have to physically subdue them. A lot of people have bad joints or medical ailments. Police departments get sued all the time for hurting people while attempting to arrest them. You would open yourself up to legal liability if you helped a cop subdue someone.

Let the police physically subdue people. They are the ones with the tools and training. Granted, I could see some exceptions where a person's life may be on the line and the suspect is involved with felonies, but generally I would say to leave the subduing to the police.

Law enforcement is a career with very little accountability. In fact, some cops after racking up too many complaints will simply switch departments. They just go and get hired on somewhere else.

He has warrants out for him; he is willing to drive in a way that would kill others to avoid talking to the police; there is every reason to believe that when the chase comes to an end, the suspect has every intention of killing the cop.
