We had 22 Royal Marines stationed on the Falklands in 1982 who managed to put up a fight inflicting casualties on the swarms of Argies before surrendering.

Our navy is not what it used to be in the 80s, it has been cut back every single year, both in personell and in ordnance / vehicles / vessels.

Only over the last 5 years have the government started constructing new carriers but they aren't operational yet.

The only carrier we have is shared with France.

I imagine another occupation by Argentina woudl last a lot, lot longer. The Falkanders would be evacuated and diplomatic discussions would go on for years to the point where they would basically be a ceremonial kind of thing, the government would pretend that they really want to get them back and continue giving stern speeches and sending harshly written letters to the Argentine embassy until the media loses interest and they can sweep it under the rug.
