I feel strange when I don't eat meat. Like my dinner just feels incomplete. I'm not going to stop eating it. Why would I? It's so versatile. I used leftover Turkey to make a salad taste great. Accirdi g to the usda, consumption of all meat products has done nothing but rise year on year and is still predicted to do so in 2016.
The reason for fewer slaughters is a slightly weaker year for the US agricultural market, so theres been fewer cows to slaughter and so more meat has had to be imported, stocks are ecpected to replenish soon tjough, bringong beef prices back down.

There's no point in forcing people to eat vegetarian, it should happen voluntarily because it tastes better. Unfortunately 99.9% of cooks are incapable of accomplishing this. Even at excellent cantina I go to 4 days a week I will only end up eating vegetarian once per week at most because the other 3 days the meal consists of too much bullshit for me to enjoy. Anything mashed I already dismiss and they offer mashed potatoes or mashed parsnips, mashed carrots or even mashed peas way too often there.
