Also, If I get it right, Putin calles them all terrorists. I udnerstand his point- support only officials. And it's a kind of right possition. But are they all terrorists? Kurds seem pretty autonomous. And who the hell are rebels? Are they muh democrasy and change we need?

there are no 'moderate' radical islamists, not even when they are puppets of the CIA nor of the FSB. Kadyrov is a extremists islamist himself in the way he views the religion and the tradition connected with it.

>In downtown Grozny, several businesses were ordered to cover up the bare heads of women in their advertisements. Authorities walked around the area, ripping off ads with women pictured in them or plastering red tape over their bare heads. Kadyrov also supports honor killings of those who violate or disregard the new law. After the bodies of seven women were found by the side of a road two years ago, he publicly stated, “If a woman runs around and if a man runs around with her, both of them are killed,” commenting that they probably had “loose morals.”

assad does not promise them anything, but he is ready to hold talks in syria about the future of these lands once this is over. he says this is not something he can decide but the people/syria will. (see RT interview with him)
>>
>>53884969
Kurds right now have a truce with the government so hopefully they won't have to fight with them. Rebels originally started during the Arab Spring as Syria's Maidan™, then more and more jihadists joined, they started fighting each other and right now it's pretty much disorganized bands of crazy islamists with barely any actually "moderate" rebels left. US and CIA have been training and arming various rebel groups to fight against Assad.
Most of the territory is desert, so it's not as huge as it would seem.

After (if) the government reclaims the whole country and ISIS is also crushed in Iraq, there probably would be an election for the new president, though I doubt West would recognize it either way, so maybe there's no point in trying to appease them.
>>
>>53885642

The Americans have given them to 'vetted' groups - all within the FSA; hence this graphic from the Washington Post
>>
>>53884969
there are four main parties
assad, the opposition/"rebels", isis, kurds

assad wants to stay in power
opposition wants a regimechange
isis wants a caliphate
kurds want autonomy/own state

while it might look like isis has a large area under control, in fact most of it is just desert

russia has supported the kurds in other conflicts, so i don't think putin includes them when speaking of terrorists

for now russia helps assad to establish a buffer zone where it matters
once done they will head east

One of the FSA commanders was boasting of a large influx of missiles and launchers right after the Russians started going in hard.

If you remember the first day of the offensive around Hama took a heavy toll on the SAA armour.
>>
>>53884969

russia never bombed the kurds. assad and kurds have some sort of pact where they don't attack one another and even work with each other at times.

large landmasses in syria are just dessert, nothing to conquer there, just to drive through and hit some villages on the way, so yeah it looks overwhelming, but the whole east of the country held by isis is quickly conquered. problem is the north, north west and south, where there is much more urban area and infrastructure to be taken on smaller ground.
also, do they need to take all areas? if Assads forces dominate on all fronts, factions will want to get into a truce with the government. also the question is, when Raqqa falls, will the IS crumble?
>>
>>53885544
As long as the mudslimes keep killing each other, I wouldn't care if they're churkas or arabs or persiana or pakis.
>>
>>53885909

>>
>>53885267
Russia is a Federation, the chechens are one of the self-governing entitities within. Kadyrov has his views and his extremness, but he WORKS. It's like Assad. Sure, some human rights lawyers may find their way into his dungeon, but largely it's fucking jihadist bastards who deserve to rot their for all eternity (based on the fact that executing them is illegal in current russian legislation)
>>
>>53884969
>Kurds
Kurds want independence. Will most likely fight with FSA should the FSA win because they have problems with fundamentalist Sunnis.
>FSA
Want to create a new democratic regime, and are forced to collaborate with al-Nusra. Hence, they want to annex Kurds and ISIS
>al-Nusra
Basically al-Quaeda. Controls like half of all FSA holdings.
>ISIS
Want to annex everyone

The FSA and SAA are the most capable factions in the conflict and have the most foreign support, and both hate ISIS. That means any victory will most likely be for either the SAA or the FSA. What exactly will happen to the kurds is still up in the air and will largely depend on the post-war conditions of the winning faction. At the very least, they will gain some autonomy from this.

If SAA collapsed, the jihadis would completely push aside the FSA in a matter of weeks.

Do you know what ISIS means? And their plans of future caliphate?
Plus, Iran wants to keep the current government because Assad is Alawite, which is a branch of Shia, the dominant religion in Iran. The majority of population of Syria is Sunni, so a Sunni government, especially an extremist one would be very bad for Iran. That's why Hezbollah also fights for Assad.

The stated goals of American foreign policy of the past 14 years collapsed two weeks ago when the USA and its poodles, France and the UK, stated 'hands off Al-Qaida/al-Nusra'.

Everything post-9/11 was based on AQ and 9/11....but it was always about Mackinder's Dictum and applying it to surround and neutralize Russia as per Brzezinski's Grand Chessboard.

Russia, not AQ, has been the 'enemy' all along.

>China for instance

USA view China and Russia as their main competition and hindrence on getting full control of the Eurasian continent. USA needs this control to stay only superpower in the 21st century. China naturally has other ideas, called the Miltipolar World, where there is more than one Superpower.
Also China is heavily dependent on foreign oil. Right now the US can easily cut China off the ME oil supply. With Iraq, Iran and Syria slipping from US fingers, China sees an opportunity to move in with Russia instead.
Also, China is building up it's military potential. If it wants to be taken seriously, it needs to prove at some point, that it is capable of projecting military power over much larger distances. Syria might be a beginners course for that, only sending support units.
There are for sure other considerations for China like better ME market penetration and making a profit in the rebuilding of the countries, but the points above are in my book the most important.

ISIS is "Islamic State of Iraq and Syria" so it's mostly in Iraq and Syria (duh), for now. That's why Iraq is "concerned". But yeah, they also plan to conquer all India and half of China, but China doesn't really care too much for now. They adhere to their usual nonintervention policy until it directly bites them.

Hezbollah is pretty based actually. Their primary goal is fighting against Zionism and imperialism, which naturally includes Israel. Otherwise they do a lot of good things for the region, educate their people, train a pretty good army, protect Christians and other minorities, etc. They are considered "terrorists" only in Jew controlled countries and are okay in Russian book.

still reading but some things triggered me:

>Iran compounds its menace by presenting itself in a dual capacity. On one level, Iran acts as a legitimate Westphalian state conducting traditional diplomacy, even invoking the safeguards of the international system. At the same time, it organizes and guides nonstate actors seeking regional hegemony based on jihadist principles: Hezbollah in Lebanon and Syria; Hamas in Gaza; the Houthis in Yemen.

what's different to the US? The US supplies a whole range of nonstate actors and are a Westphalian state. Menacing US

>What started as a Sunni revolt against the Alawite (a Shiite offshoot) autocrat Bashar Assad fractured the state into its component religious and ethnic groups, with nonstate militias supporting each warring party, and outside powers pursuing their own strategic interests. Iran supports the Assad regime as the linchpin of an Iranian historic dominance stretching from Tehran to the Mediterranean. The Gulf States insist on the overthrow of Mr. Assad to thwart Shiite Iranian designs, which they fear more than Islamic State.

And what about the USA as an outside power? why not mentioning them. He presents the US as a benevalent paternal power that is only interested in keeping the peace of the region.

Nowhere until the place i read so far he mentiones the goals of the USA. He blames Obabo for not having a strategy. Ok so far so true, but a strategy is always only good, if you have a clearly defines goal or set of goals. What are they Mr Heinrich the German Judenjunge? Why is it so bad, that Russia returns to the ME militarily?

Maybe it comes later, but so far I'm a bit disappointed by the deep voice.

Yeah, no. You don't want to send Chechens, unless you're absolutely positive for turning Syria into WHAT A DAY, WHAT A LOVELY DAY and much more. Also their biological need for commiting excessive war atrocities will be a godgift for western media ("MUH MORDORATES").

They will most likely interchange presidency and ministery continually.

Putin is the one that slightly modifies the prime minister obligations and the president's obligation to favour him, in the end he contrlls most of the country while Medvedev manages smaller issues like legislation and financial stuff.

It says the US had a Paki taliban target inside and he was killed during the airstrike.

So they blew up a hospital in order to kill one guy and then drove through the hospital later (WITH A TANK?!?) to destroy evidence.
