I just overheard my mother talking to my grandmother on the phone and holy shit, I couldn't stop laughing.
She saw someone on Facebook who actually believes the most destructive hurricanes, like Harvey, Katrina and now Irma. Are really the spirits of dead African slaves that perished during the trip over the Atlantic Ocean. Now she and my grandmother are starting to believe this shit. So I decided to look this up, and I'm surprised there black people who actually believe this. There's videos, and numerous blogs and articles discussing this.
