I wouldn't say completely but I did view equality as the goal that should be worked toward. I also had many of the other stereotypical positions concerning the racial make up of the country or immigration. At college I remember a professor talking about how his field was really just one long conversation with the ghost of Karl Marx and I didn't see anything wrong with that. I was uneducated with respect to the horrors of communism. I used to think of myself as well read but now that I look back all of my reading was within a rather narrow ideological window. Thankfully a person can only deny reality or so long and what has been happening to Europe with the "refuge" crisis was a huge slap in the face. Reality no longer matched what I had been reading so I had to find new material to understand what was going on.
