The difference between american universities is marginal at best beyond the top schools. It's all about muh prestige and name recognition, but ultimately all that matters is getting the 4 year degree in a practical major.

It's all about the resume and networking. You can be a totally fucked in the head retard, but if daddy bought you a Ivy league college degree and you can make a few friends you are virtually assured an easy 6 figure life. The middle class desperately wants to move up to that level, but can't afford it, so they send their kids to state schools, which in turn put them right back in there parents economic position...plus 40k in debt.
