DFW here, seems like supply is returning. Prices are still like 50 cents higher than they were pre-Harvey, but more and more gas stations are opening up.

I mean... they should be defending this. This is exactly how more gas is brought to the regions that desperately need it. High demand and low supply is what lets this guy sell for a high initial price. High initial price gives incentive for people to buy gas, transport it and sell it like the guy in the ad is doing. Lots of people doing this increases supply, satiating and reducing demand and lowering prices.

It truly sucks for the first few who buy into it out of desperation, but even for them they are still better off than they were without the gas (or they wouldn't have bought it). It just feels bad because you are getting 'ripped off'... stop being emotional about it and consider how economics actually works.
