Don't even try multitask cooking when you're a beginner, ready your ingredients and do stuff one at a time, it will take a whole lot longer, but if the end result is good, you will naturally gravitate into cooking more and the multitasking will start happening on it's own with time.

Also, be aware that when cooking anything that takes any actual cooking skill, you will generally fail more or less the first couple of times, no one sears a perfect steak or salmon on the first try.

My apprenticeship was pretty comfy tho. I had actually 2 days off a week but on the other hand we worked from 9am to 2pm and then from 3.30 pm to around 11pm to 0 am.

But fuck me im happy i got out. I learned a craft (rather well desu) and i learned a lot about managing your own work and responsibilities.

(worst shit of my life was having to write up the cooling units temp and stats every night for 3 years, or sitting in the basement in front of the vacuum machine and packing copious amounts of sauces and meat and shit at least i always got a beer when i had to do it)
