One of my best friends was an OG burner. He was part of the initial core group that started in San Francisco. He got dressed up like big bird and hung himself from the top of one of his barns so that his wife would get to see a giant dead bird that was her husband hanging when she got home. And I read an article yesterday that basically said that many people have attempted to enter the flames as part of some "spiritual" aspect of the festival, but there are trained men who prevent the would-be sacrifices every year. This guy got past them though and you can see the video of it if you want.

I can see how the urge to jump in to fire or jump off of something could manifest in a really serious trip. The mind/body associative games aspect of certain trips can get into suicidal territory. Not to mention the all the degenerate wackos making their garbage event into some sort of "spiritual" experience etc. I would say I've ever been suicidal on things but I have felt a faint like "free yourself" type urge though, but it never is more than just maybe a whisper of it on a heavy dose. You get the right person on the right drugs in the right amounts though I can see them acting on it.
