Spencer's issue is that he views himself as a philosophical shitposter when he took on the mantle of a political thinker. So he says autistic shit that leads to infighting like support of the EU or opposing the RAISE Act. Along those same lines he positioned himself as a big fish in a small pond by securing the support of the TRS and DS crowd. He was attempting to perform the old trick in extremist politics and posture himself as the Good Cop to Anglin and Enoch's Bad Cop. I think that Charlottesville wasn't a failure per se, but revealed the inherent weaknesses of the Alt-Right as a movement. I agree with this post alot. While I think lots of the people you mention are still useful, they ultimately shouldn't be the face of our movement. You need to have a public and private face of your movement, and ultimately people like Taylor or Damigo who will publicly not address some aspects of our movement but get the core message across in a clean cut fashion are better on the outside, while people like spencer or weev or heimbach are good for having on the inside, organizing and pulling strings with the actual ultimate goal in mind.
