The point isn't that no women should be having kids 3x+. The midwife is right that the risks are sometimes exaggerated. The point is that the best child-bearing years are a women's 20s. Women shouldn't be unduly putting off having children to "enjoy their youth" or "focus on their career."

It's all about averages. The chance that the child will be born with some physical or mental deformities is higher as the mother gets older. If they want to risk that then it's fine but it's their kid.

The problem for the most part is that because of the current economic climate in Japan, and all around the developed world, it's not exactly economically viable for people in their 20s to have kids. So you either only get the rich, who will be able to support children or pay nannies and others to raise their child for them, or the very unintelligent and poor people who are too dumb to not have a lot of children. The middle class is the only class that's not having a lot of children, or any at all, because it's not easy to have any unless you're very lucky.

It's why welfare leeches and coloureds have so many children, they're just too dumb and poor not to.
