That's not really a sound argument, fruit is made for birds and small mammals rather than people, it doesn't do the tree much good if we eat fruit.

As it is our bodies don't really 'care' where the nutrition comes from, it's fairly good at breaking down various chemicals into nutrients. In fact if you're Northern European in ancestry your body has adapted specifically to preserve your ability to break down milk into adulthood because cow's milk was a frequent enough source of nutrition to make that beneficial.
