Family comes from the earliest days of American colonization. Some were in the House of Burgesses and more than I can count fought in the Revolution. They then traveled from Viriginia and North Carolina and became some of the first settlers of Tennessee and Kentucky. I know a town in East Tennessee and a town in West Tennessee my ancestors founded. One ancestor rode with Andrew Jackson in 1812. Plenty of my ancestors fought for both sides in the Civil War. One grandfather fought in WW2 and the other in Vietnam. I even took a DNA test and I'm like 72% Anglo and can trace one side of my family back to a man who fought alongside William the Conqueror. I just got done visiting the family cemetery where my great-grandfather, gg grandpa, and ggg grandpa are buried to clean up some storm damage. If nothing else I feel my roots in Tennessee.
