Yes, and I did it very much at university. I sometimes felt like Patrick Bateman during that purposefully politically correct "we should do better" political speech he did at the dinner table, successfully impressing everyone around him, and demonstrating that he is on the right side of history, while not really meaning what was being said (in my case, any suggestion in favor of leftist liberal policies). It's very risky to speak up against left leaning ideologies, unless the professor appears to be against that, himself.

I'm friends with a bunch of lefties and most of them don't swallow the msm stuff unthinkingly. Like me, they are more moderates than extremists. It's good to have friends who are neither left wing nutjobs nor right wing nutjobs.
